Windows 10 for Phone

Yup, the 930 IS the icon and its available for that, laughable how the current flagship gets left out again ffs.

As the post above says, its a preview, they want the best current user experience even for the preview and the 930/icon isn't a part of that at the moment.

I am posting this via Spartan for w10 and its awesome!!!! Spartan is very responsive(more so than ie)

In terms of the rest of the changes. Once again MSFT have pulled it out. Settings has changed a lot Bu is more relevant and functional, the keypad is nicer and smarter, app menu is laid out better with lists of recently installed apps etc as well as a categorised settings menu and the notifications bar is much improved with tri level shortcuts etc.

Saying that, I am in the process of rolling back to 8.1. Mainly because I didn't get the option to do a fresh install, as well as the fact its too slow for the way I use my phone. Holding back Ro quickly swipe apps away rakes about double the time and even now, the keypad is lagging.

Edit: I will definitely try again when the option for a clean install is available and office is added on. It looks and feels amazing!

Updated my 830 to it last night, first it installed 8.1 v2 though which was a surprise as it wasn't announced to be part of it.

So far, I'm really enjoying it, nice a responsive for the most part, things like Sparten are a little slow, but it's the first time it's been implemented, Aeries didn't like it so had to reinstall Metweets, the new menu is much more complete and looks really good now.

The new icons in the status bar look better also.

Finally got it installed on 520, not going to install it in my main phone. It's quite slow at the moment.

What I've noticed so far, is we all need to give feedback to allow address bar at bottom off project Spartan.

And alarms/clocks. Needs to allow entering by time name rather than just country. So UTC, PST, GMT etc.

Other than that, playing with it will have to wait till tomorrow night.

Seems much of the same from what I've played with, but it's good to see they have ditched the stupid lower case headings in Settings and menus. It always looked massively childish and unfinished being lower case.

Running on my MS Lumia 435 which has 1GB ram, it seems ok, but my dual core Snapdragon 200 is struggling a bit, I think this needs a quad core processor to make it a decent experience.

How do I actually install this on my Lumia 930?

The Windows Insider app lets me choose a build, fast or slow, then reboots my phone. But no changes after that?

I got all excited too, my phone said there was an update, so installed it only to see no change. I must have missed an 8.1 update somewhere lol

I need to read instead of skim lol

Now that I have selected the preview will that just shown up as my next update if/when it becomes available again. Or should I keep checking?

Best off just checking this thread, it's going to be a few weeks at least in all likely hood. Probably not till the next big release.

Actually, you've just tricked your 930 into getting 8.1 update 2 which hasn't been released yet. You should be able to use Bluetooth keyboards and your settings should now be grouped :)

It's killed my 520. Well probably not killed but needs recovery software. Won't boot. Despite working other the other day.

Also if you have a big phone theres now options for a one handed keyboard centred right or left on screen.

Not a fan of the way the mail app deals with the inbox, needs the ability to have all inboxes in a central inbox in the same was that the ipad/iphone do so you can see everything in one place, but ID'd by colour or something.
Also, would be nice, given my accounts are exchange ones, if you read an email elsewhere it disapears from the Notifications bar...

Went to recover 520 back to 8.1 and 10s working again now, so can have a proper play.

Also they're will be an update at build conference which is 29th-2nd so not long, that will include the office apps.

What does the update show itself as in the phone settings? In the "about" settings it says windows phone 8.1 update 2. Is that what in 10 shows itself as?

Anyone else having issues using the Feedback tool on WP10?

I've had it crash a few times, but then I've had a few things crash/hang/do something odd...

Managed to report everything through so far, though :)

Try checking for updates again. My 435 updated to 8.1 update 2 and then found another update which was 10 :)

Just noticed Windows 10 Preview finally support the kind of VPN I need. (PPTP)

It was the major thing holding be back from switching back.

Bye bye Android.

Installed the preview on my 625 a couple of days ago. Running smoothly, and the Outlook Mail and Calendar are very good

I have put this on a 930 I just got, most things seem to work ok but don’t get any notification for emails. Also tried playing the radio and sound only comes out of the right speaker?
