Whats your favourite cold meats?

Christmas ham is my favourite but that might be as its a once a year kind of thing. After that it would be the likes of serrano and parma ham. Any ham really I suppose :D

Yeah, I love ham. Nice thick slices of Wiltshire ham for me. Failing that, Yorkshire ham.

Jerky is an amazing shout.
After that a good ham, with a sweet heavy glaze.
Not such a big fan of Italian style hams. They're ok.

Prosciutto crudo de Parma.

Bets I ever had was a salami made from a mix of horse and wild boar may by some Swiss hunters I met randomly in the mountains.

My favourite is probably Saucisson from l'Ardèche region of France however I do enjoy pretty much any cold meat.

good call - billtong over jerky every time
Droewors every time... then Biltong... then most other things... with Jerky right at the bottom as I never seem to find it in Plain. Everyone seems to coat it with icky über-sweet marinade or something and it ends up tasting... well, American, really!

Polish Kabanos sausages are pretty reasonable, depending on the brand. I'm doing that Paleo diet thing, so carbs and sugars are bad, but meats are fine and when I can't get up the SA shop these things are sold everywhere.

However, my Mrs is NUTS - Right now, we actually have an *entire pig leg*, complete with stand and everything, sat on one of the kitchen units!!!
It's apparently some kind of Spanish delicacy, she says... Jamon Serrano Ham, she says... take off a few slices as and when you feel like it, she says...
Tastes like slimy, cheap wafer-thin ham, if you ask me!! :D

Decent cured ham is amazing. Either you've got a duff one (is it one of the Aldi ones from a while back? I've heard dodgy things) or your tastes are bad :p
