***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

I was surprised to get a wanted level online last night a few minutes after aquiring a car, apparently if you get spotted in a stolen car you'll a wanted level.

Well I don't know if it was the new patch making the game more stable for me or the 0.03 vcore I added the other day, but I got a solid 3 hours in last night without any crashes. Going by my recent track record, I'd be surprised if a measly +0.03v somehow made all the difference because I was already pumping far more juice through my CPU than I've seen many others need. I hope the game fixed it because otherwise I think it's far more likely that I just got lucky than having found my CPU's sweet spot.

How bad is bad. Also if your only judging by the tearing in the intro then don't worry as when playing the actual game there is no tearing or at least very very few instances if it from my experience. So yes tearing in intro but game should be fine. If u get it in actual gameplay is your fps 60 or is your res refresh set wrong?

I'm getting it in game, not just the intro. On a scale of 1-10 probably a 6 for how bad it is. Can't really play without it irritating me. I've turned it off in the Nvidia settings now.

I have the refresh rate set to 59hz in game (no option for 60) I'm using a Dell U2711 which is 60hz.

I can live with just loading up the game and switching to half and back to on in order to get it working each time, but if there is a fix it would be helpful.

Ash did you set it to adaptive Vsync or just Vsync?

Read that Nvidia performance report, it recommends for 1080p to turn off MSAA and to use TXAA along with enabled DSR in the Nvidia Control Panel. Think I may have a play with that later, see what it's all about as I haven't used DSR before. Doing this method apparently negates the need for MSAA.

Not sure what the performance gains/loses are yet until I try it.

I used Adaptive Vsync.

Loving the game so far. My only complaint would be that cars seem really durable. The amount of high speed crashes I've had and manage to drive off with a small bump on it. Compare it to GTA 4, your car could get into some comical states, and at times you could still drive it away!

Random question, but anyone else notice the lack of cop cars while not wanted? I can only recall one occasion where I drove past a cop car under normal circumstances.

Two good points here. Damage level is pretty poor to be honest, only hope is a mod at some point.

I too noticed a distinct lack of patroling cops on the streets. I remember in GTA4 you had to be careful when you broke into parked cars or attacked pedestrians etc because there were always lots of police around. The only time I see them here is when I'm wanted. Cops are much much easier to lose now too. Overall I'd say GTAV is much less of a challenge than past games :(

I think they have deliberately removed the amount of cop cars roaming around. When I got the game originally on the 360 they were everywhere and now they're hard to come by. I remember at the time there was a lot of complaints about how many there were. Also if I remember correctly if you drove past one in a stolen car it would give you a wanted level.

There's already snow it the base game, it's just a certain weather condition that's only enabled for special online events (christmas) and the North Yankton snowy segments.

I think you can even use a cheat on your phone to change the weather to snow.

I guess this was just a simple number change to enable snow at all times, but I wish Rockstar would come out and say whether nor not mods are supported already. Playing with some sort of FOV mod (I use Flawless Widescreen) is a must when playing this game in first person, feels so low otherwise, and I'm actually having a lot more fun in first person now, especially in drive-by shootings :D

Unlocked the insurgent yesterday for GTA online, so much fun, it's basically the most durable car in the game, people can only really kill you by shooting through the window, it tanks RPG and sticky bombs like they're nothing. Had some guy commit suicide like 4 times trying to RPG me.

Same was funny seeing a guy blow himself up and just drive away. Only thing that killed me a few times was a fighter jet cannon.
