Hey.

I currently have a GTX 980 and noticed some games at 1440p really need more power. What would be the best option? Another 980 seems bad timing at the moment due to prices increases.

Knock some setting down and wait for the new 980ti or 390x.

If you have money to burn then buy a Titan X.

Although some games due to poor optimisation still aren't going to run over 60 constantly maxed out at 1440p on any of the cards mentioned above.

Titan X is well out of my price range :p I'm hoping the 980s get fairly cheap as new cards come out so I can go down the SLI route.

Get a second hand/heavily reduced GTX980 when the ti is released. A pair of 980s will smash a 980ti and it will cost you less overall. A pair of GTX970s are fantastic for 1440p, 980s even better (especially when more than 3.5GB VRAM is required).

Yeah I'm thinking that would be the easiest bet.

I'm SLI 980 at 1600p and it is a huge boost over one card. Especially on the newer titles like GTAV.

I run the cores on both at 1400Mhz for complete stability and memory at 3800Mhz
