****Official Project CARS thread****

Ah Imola wonderful track. Takes me back to my online GT Legends days. I'd love some more of that in some if the older cars. Looking really good!

Depends on car and track. Spa eau rouge at night in a formula A or McLaren p1 you'll want to hit the brakes.. Take a Clio cup car out around snetterton it can feel a little pedestrian , just depends.

Touring cars around brands hatch or donnington in a ford serria or Zak speed Capri is good fun.

GT racing is where the best fun and sense of speed can be had at times, but take a Audi le mans racer down circuit Bugatti and you'll hit the straight and go, woohoo this is quick, and then miss the braking point and get the chicanes all wrong..

And SMS are going to expand on this title, dlc will see more cars some will be free as well. Honestly the game has so many options, variations and classes it should keep the dedicated racer happy enough..

Then there is the oval track racing dlc. Indy car and stock car oval tracks to come.

You can do a proper 24 hour le mans with accurate weather and time progression from the real circuit. The game checks the weather at the time you start. Raining at the real le mans, it rains in game...

Go to Silverstone and its sunny in Northampton. It's sunny in game. GT racing around Silverstone is wicked fun when it starts to rain and you all dive into the pits to change tires..

Note on pit crew, currently missing from PC version. But I think its being added as a patch. Not sure if day one patch mind..

Thanks for the in depth response, everytime I read your posts I want this game even more!

They plan to add classic touring cars like Nissan primira etc later. For now. BMW 3 series. Capri and ford serria are all features. And a lot of fun..

I'm hoping we get the old Lagunas from the Jason Plato/Alan Menu days...

You'll be fine. Its just not as forgiving if you get it wrong. Its perfectly playable with a gamepad. And a lot of fun as you can drive smooth lines once you get the hang of it.

But if you've been playing a lot of forza then you might find it a little different... Its not I racing levels , but its got a lot of settings you can change to try and balance the handlkng to a level you're comfortable with, I play the game on PC with a ds4 controller at the moment, and its perfectly fine... Just don't make too many mistakes ... Lol and respect the throttle a little more oit the corner's.

Good to know, thank you for the reply. I originally come from PC Sims like LFS, rFactor, NKPro before making the switch to consoles so hopefully switching from Forza to something more sim like shouldn't be too problematic.

My real problem is I don't want to spend £250 on a wheel yet really want a wheel for PCars :D

Needs the Volvo Estate and the Mondeo too :)

If we are going to wish for the super touring cars and can re-create TOCA, can I hope for a pink cadillac and a tank too :D

Laguna's are listed as future dlc but its all down to licence.. SMS have had cars and even liveries removed from alphas of this game due to not getting licence approval

Audi A4 touring got removed, McLaren liveries got removed. Gulf liveries went , such a shame. . SMS haven't even got Ferrari, so no Ferrari f40.

But hopefully if game sells well they might secure all of this in future updates.

I stand to gain nothing financial from project cars. Backers of the game get a small percentage of sales, I won't as I got my access from a Ocuk forum member. He sold me his account, so this member gets the proceeds not me. So me saying I like the game is not down to me trying to push the game on folks.

I just hope it lives up to what it promises... Fingers crossed.

Man what happened to Codemasters :( - bring back BMX Simulator and the cheating 'AI'

TOCA was brillant, hell even the first GRID was good

ps3ud0

Oh my, I forgot about those :D

I don't know whats happened to code masters. They used to produce some fun racing games..

Anyhow, this video will show the time and weather progression

If you're a racing game fan, I'm sure project cars has something to offer. Its not perfect, its going go have a few bugs, missing features and new content is planned... But hopefully those who do jump on board will find some fun in the game...

am really looking forward to this and a few little minor bugs i could put up with but if its like halo where the game was unplayable until we had to wait ages for patches then thats gonna hurt not only those who bought it but sms also .

been waiting for a xo racer which is like grid for ages and this could fill those boots easy by the looks of it

The engine blows up at 9 mins :o

Yep, you have mechanical failures enabled. You'll blow your engine or it'll expire if abused.

Wheels can come off and you'll maybe get back to the pits. Damage if you have it set to performance effecting and not cosmetic can effect handling..

I'm hopefully hoping they get the pit crews and pit animation completed into a patch for release day.

I want to know more about this private lobby stuff. And whether it'll allow people to create leagues
