Anybody here work for EE ?

Nah, basically what it is..
I'm trying to order a contract&phone through mobilephonesdirect but EE are rejecting my credit application.. Wasn't sure why as my credit rating is "above average" according to equifax & experian, no bad debt, been in a decent paying job for quite some time now..

Sent over my credit record from equifax to EE, tried to order again and rejected..

So I'm giving up :p

Shame as it was a pretty decent deal.

EE wont tell why they refused you anyway you can challenge any bad debt from other company if its wrong dont forgot on your report :)

Yeah pretty much bugger all I can do with that I'm afraid. Likelihood is someone at your address or with your name previously defaulted on a contract.

I had the same issue with mobile phones direct. I think they like to cancel people on the good deals. (Id only ordered an Ee sim only)

Don't think it works on your address. Just you as a person. More than likely got refused for some really dumb reason, you'd never find out why though.

Address history is fine.
My dads had a contract with T-Mobile (now EE) for over 10 years at £40 a month, never missed a bill or anything like that.
Likewise my credit history has no reason to be in a bad state.

I called customer services the other day from my dads phone and asked for a BAN number (something that overrides the credit check?), then re-ordered through mobilephonesdirect using the BAN number, it's been a few days on "awaiting decision" (whereas before it was rejected within 48hrs).. so maybe it'll go through this time!

I bet if you apply for a more expensive contract from ee directly they'll accept you, sometimes they'll insist on the final part of the purchase going to phone from the internet to stop the buyer getting cashback.

BAN does not overide anything its just the account number ;)

Where did you get that info from thats not even remotley correct ;)

Got through to the UK team and one of them said to give the BAN number to mobilephonesdirect so a credit check won't be carried out by EE when they send the order through.

Just gonna get somebody else to order it in their name if my current order is rejected again.

BAN = Billing Account Number IIRC.

If you use this then they may use an existing account for upgrading or adding an additional line. This MIGHT help as it will show them how you have maintained the account with themselves directly.

As I said, used to work for them. Address is a factor. Think fraud rather than credit there though...

I meant to say that i thought it didn't connect with other people at your address, just YOU at your address. Brother had a blemish on his credit rating and it's never affected me, not yet anyway. I've also never ever missed a payment and always pay things off as soon as i can.

I was not referring to you mate about where did you get the info from was to the other statement but he cleared that up now.

Dis86 is right correct BAN = Billing Account Number , any new connection or add lines will have a credit no matter what 100%.

They rejected me too a month ago whilst never having a credit issue and being accepted by all the other networks. Same problem on family members names too. Someone suggested you have to put your name exact as it is on the card for the bank details, I put full names but had already joined a different network so didn't try it out.
