I played with no crashes tonight but for some reason I could only use my pistols, shotgun and flare while driving :(

Also, I would try to shoot someone and they would randomly disappear.

Great session tonight guys.
Sucked that there were server problems for some of you though. Maybe its because you guys came online later then us?

Hopefully rockstar sort it out soon

Ok, could really do with some help.

Up until a couple of days ago, the game was playing 100% fine, no issues.

The last couple of days, it's steadily become unplayable.

First, loading times. I just timed it, from clicking "story mode" to the character being on screen. 9 minutes 30 seconds.

Then, there's the pop in. I reduced EVERY graphical setting to minimum, to rule out lack of GPU power or vram issues.

I'm not talking small amounts of pop in either.

One moment I'll be driving along and it'll be perfectly fine, then this happens.

At the same time, the game will freeze (single player and online) for between 2-6 seconds, then resume like nothing happened.

See the charts below, you can see my cpu and gpu usage reducing to zero (apart from the first core) for the moments this happens. Currently it's happening every 10-30 seconds roughly. I'm only using less than 1200GB of vram, so plenty left of the 1.5GB on my card.

Ignore the 2nd half of the CPU graph and the first half of the GPU graphs.

I'm gonna verify the game files (steam) to see if any are corrupt, but any help would be appreciated. it's gotten steadily worse the last couple of days, it started out just with the freezing for a few seconds every minute or 2, which I thought was an online issue.

Try reseating your gpu and pushing in your GPUs power cables after verifying your game files.

Does it happen in other games ?

This looks like a gpu VRAM overheating issue (skipping) or probably the mem chips dying. *Fingers crossed* it isn't.

Dude, turn AMD CHS shadows on, makes it look much better. And I've noticed that being wrong at times, game says I'm using 3.8gb, afterburner only says 3.2gb.

Thanks, I'm gonna re-download/install the game tomorrow, I played some online golf and went back to SP and no have zero sounds apart from the odd cat/rat/music.

Haven't had any sort of issue in any other games.

For people having problems with the game crashing try what I did.

Go to control panel-add/remove programs and click rockstar social club and uninstall.
It should give you the option to either uninstall or repair. Click repair.
It will download the latest version of the launcher.

Then go into your gta V folder right click gta V launcher and run as administrator.

Since I did that I have not had one crash

Just trying it at 4K on my TV, runs surprisingly well on a 280X! Settings on "High" no AA or such like though.

Sadly can only do 30hz, tv has HDMI 2 ports but 280X doesnt.

Looks great and plays fine despite the lowish FPS/HZ. :)

Lag and desync was horrific last night again, seems to be a peak time thing. They need to sort it as the back end clearly cant cope with a large number of people. Doing anything, even getting in a vehicle was nigh on impossible.

Anyone know if the camera shots are saved anywhere locally? Or how to take a screenshot?

The photos taken aren't stored locally but when you go to the pause menu, scroll right until you see a tab called gallery(its normally defaulted to hidden off screen to the right.

From there you can upload to the social club directly and download from there.

Alternatively grab yourself bandicam or some other FPS type program (maybe not fraps as apparently GTA doesn't like it, and it will give you the option to assign a key to printscreen which will auto save to a default folder you can assign

Stayed up till 4am last night playing SP, realised when I got into bed I had a conference call at 9am, that was a rough start....will be done soon, then its GTA time for a few hours before I actually need to go outside :O

Amazing Screens of GTA graphics!

Images over 1,280 pixels wide should be placed in spoiler tags as I've done for you.

Cheers
