Hi all, Has anyone used this card before ?

I can see it looks a good price but I cant see any reviews on the LE

Anyone with experience of using it - a reply would be appreciated

Thanks

It's not bad but I'd go with sapphire or the msi Lightning (cracking card). I've got two sapphire cards on the vapor-x fans and they are the nuts

To be honest with you I had the MSI lighting to start with and that went faulty and it cost me £600 when it was released , and I got a replacement MSI LE Version from overclockers 28 days later back in Jan when it cost £280 , and to be totally honest I can't tell the difference at all. ( This is the yellow card with Lightning LE on the box Not sure if you mean this card or not ? )

For £230 / £250 current price its a bargain ! It will run all games on max settings on 1080p screen no problems at all , I currently game at 1440 res with high to max settings and I get 40 -50 fps on the newest titles , so its a great card. & GTA I have ultra settings and it stays well above 30 fps

Its the same as the lightning OC version just not factory overclocked , if anyone tells you any different they are lying.

+ You can overclock it yourself if you want in afterburner.

Got the normal MSI Gaming 290X (which is just the same card, but higher clocked), and can't fault it at all, bought on release, absolute cracker of a card tbh, good temps (around 76/80 underload, and very quiet, got the core clocked to 1080, and just left the memory at stock (1250MHz), cuts through everything with ease at 1080p, GTA V runs fantastic.

I'd avoid the MSI gaming 290x if I was you, There's a problem with them which although it may only be a small percentage overall that suffer, It is quite a few people that have had issues, and it's not worth the risk, Especially if like me you get one which hits 95 degrees under load on the stock clocks and then you get told your not getting an exchange as it's perfectly okay for it too run at those temps. Don't risk it, Pay a little more and get a Sapphire, They designed there coolers for the chip they did not recycle a Twin Frozer IV which was was originally built around a different chip.

Bought this when it was £239.99. Been using it for about a week and despite what other people have said, it is bloody loud and mine sits at 86-89C when playing GTAV and BF4 at max settings.

It is doing it very smoothly though, also I leave MSI Afterburner running while playing and I've never seen it shift the GPU clock up to 1020MHz... guessing because of how high the temps are at standard?

Its weird, I've looked at lots of user reviews for these from different sources and most people seem very happy with the cooling and noise levels, but then the odd person really isn't. Exactly the same with the ASUS card currently on offer. Luck of the draw?

Set up a profile in Afterburner to lock the clocks, just set them to higher than stock for it to work (lock). :)

Those temps seem a bit high, mine only goes from 76/80 in GTA V, with 1080 on the core.

Excellent guide here if you're unsure :- http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18431335&highlight=afterburner

My issue with Asus is the RMA process. I had to wait 6 weeks before I got a replacement GPU from them but MSI are great when it comes to issues.

Asus are a joke, they're quick to deny rma's based on any random mark they can find. My 7990 was the same, 28 day wait for ocuk to issue me a refund. Longest passing 28 days ever :(
