body shaming gone too far? (***warning*** Daily Fail Story ***warning***)

Probably has something to do with promoting a unrealistic figure, most likely been airbrushed / shopped to ****.

Most women where I live have a figure like that because they look after themselves and respect their bodies. Strangely enough they don't just fill their face with chocolate and get fat and then moan about how people are critical when it's just the fault of their genes.

You know something is wrong when people in the office think I am weird for eating cottage cheese while they eat a mars bar.

This country has it all wrong!

It's catering to people who want that body, and it's a good advert, because it's now everywhere. Money well spent.

I am definitely nicking hamgalaxies :D

I don't know what the all the fuss is about, she looks like an average healthy and fit woman, any young woman can look like that. My Russian wife gave birth 2 months ago to our 3.2kg son and she is now 49kg, her beach body will be ready for sure in the summer. Her tip is eat for one, baby doesn't need an extra slice of cake.

I facepalmed when i read Katie Holmes' comment and realised i agree with her. I can sort of see the implication of it implying that if you don't look like the photo, you aren't ready to wear a bikini and go to the beach.

But.

Until I see Calvin Klein ads provoke the same outrage or start employing fat models, my cup of care is empty. The double standard borders on hypocritical and I've yet to see the sort of myopic twitter trash directed at 'unrealistic' male body image in the same way.

Same people at my work think I'm a freak with my quinoa salad for lunch

Same, I also have comments passed that I'm weird as I don't particularly enjoy alcohol which constitutes that I'm not enjoying life?! OK then.

It has been proven that being larger can have damaging effect to ones health so it's about time we lost the whole 'big is beautiful' pap. Of course if people are actually happy having a high body fat content then fair enough, I'm not one to tell them how to live their life, just don't preach to me that I should eat more, indulge in naughties more, I spend too much time exercising or moan about models on posters because you don't look the same. Just get on and deal with it that you're fat, you stated you're happy with it so why give a toss what is put up on posters?

urgh i dunno why i'm returning here but it seems protein worlds best selling stuff is meal replacement, low calorie miracle powders AKA "Slim fast"
The blatantly obvious act off eating a calorie deficient diet to become leaner.

Bot whatever helps float your boat i guess?

I had to facepalm a little last night. Chatting to my friends wife and she was complaining about her weight, as she was just under 14 st....and she's only about 5'4"

Well, part of the issue she said was working in an office, just all those cups of tea/coffe with biscuits, cakes and muffins always around....

I just said here's a radical concept....just don't eat them?

Then she went on about how when they go to Neros now she only has a Jacket potato with cottage cheese now, because that's healthy yes?, not the lovely <insert whatever cheese laden snack she was on about>

Then proceeded to tell me how they ordered Dominoes the other night, had to have the 2 for 1 deal since it was only a few pounds more, and then she had 8 slices  When I asked she said they are about 700 calories each?:eek:

She didn't look that impressed when I pointed out that was currently about 4 days worth of calories for me, being a 6'1" bloke, since I am on the mission to shift a stone or two myself (only half a st to go  )

Fine, eat what you like, but just don't ****** moan about it when your fat afterwards!

And there we have it, it really is as simple as this. No one is forcing the food down your throat.

My bodyfat is higher than I'd like but I don't complain about it because I know it's down to me and I love the cake!

When I was at high school (1995 to 2000) a lot of girls used to get their parents or friends to fake notes to say why they can't do PE as they hated it. Anyone had this in their high school?

I bet those are the same type of women who are moaning about this ad.

Precisely! If you don't like the advert or the product ..... Don't buy it and move on. There is no difference between this and 99% of advertising.

Ridiculously 'hunky' dude with his top off is used to sell diet coke....where is the outrage from these idiots for that? The bloke in these adverts is 100% not what you would call a 'normal' healthy guy, the guy in the advert is muscle defined to a point that can only be achieved through a hell of a lot of training.

For the record I'm not against the diet coke adverts.....I actually think they are clever marketing. What I am against is the complete and utter hypocrisy of the people moaning at this perfectly normal Australian model in the poster.

Also!.... Beach body is a figure of speech/ expression that has commonly been used for years and years to describe someone that looks 'attractive' (fit) in a swimsuit.

Yep, although funnily enough it was always the slimmer girls that seemed to do this the ones that didn't want to mess up their hair or be seen sweaty.
