panasonic VT 65''

i've seen a ST65'' on ebay...already put a bid in, it's the same version as mine just 10'' bigger

it's cash on collection, but only if it's ok, he seems like an honest guy......because if a plasma is ok it should last years.....Mum's 42'' is perfect and it's 5 years old....tv is on all day long.

i would say my screen is as good as new, so in theory so should his

Don't forget you'll pay import duty on that. Possibly VAT too.

yea, you will also have to pay Carriage  one would need to check all of this before buying

i used an import calculator, it will cost an additional £800 plus handling charge to my home:(

so that GT 65'' will cost £3000...............doesn't sound so good now does it :(

If you are going to be spending that sort of cash then I'd be looking to upgrade the model as well.

At minimum you should be looking for a GT 60.

Especially if you were initially looking at buying a VT65.

Best place to buy would be second hand off avforums not eBay. An advert could look fine but the person on the other end is usually a donkey.

Now I wouldn't touch anything worth over £100 on eBay unless buying from a shop.

This past year alone I've done a deal with someone on eBay who lived a 2 hours drive away to collect and when I got there he demanded £100 more. One of the things was also defective.

I bought a new item 4 weeks ago and when it came it wasn't in the original packaging but bubble wrap and masking tape and covered in scratches. I paid rrp for this item and obviously wasn't happy he refused to refund or take a return so eBay had to step in.

Stop being tight if you want a better TV go to avforums and buy it from there. There is no way I would touch eBay with £100 never mind a grand.

It's full of mongo loids.

Sold a phone to someone and he wanted £30 discount after it arrived because of no "air phone" told him that the phone even when brand new direct from retailers doesn't come with " ear phones " yet he still filed a case which he lost.

Now I only buy stuff for like a tenner on eBay and when selling I'd rather sell for cheaper and in person on Gumtree

harsh words, they're not all Donkeys because it goes the other way too... these two latest sellers are suspicious of me..

AV Forums is no good right now, they dont have a 65'' tv, i'll tell you something when i brought mine it was beside a VT 55'', a GT 50'' and a LG, now all 3 plasmas looked the same, the only bad one was the LG and it was REALLY BAD.

so i dont believe there's much difference between them.

i would buy from Rakuten but i'm worried about one thing only :- what if the tv is bust or it breaks down 2 months later :eek::eek: it would take months to get a replacement and would be a real pain to send back to Japan.

i sent a Seiko Watch back to them, it went missing a month later, it was finally found in Singapore, it was held up in the despatch department..in a warehouse

I think you've answered your own question. East Anglia might be a long drive, but it's a damned sight closer than Russia or Japan. If you're serious about the TV then hire a van and go see the TV in the flesh.

My guess why he hasn't responded is that there's a lot of dreamers who just want to talk endlessly about product

yes maybe, he does have a nice ``tv repair and service business`` and it comes with a 5 year extended warranty....as you say, i get the impression now that he's not hiding something..............more like too busy to talk, and to him it's just another tv, he's probably sick of the sight of it in his workshop and if it was broken, he repairs TVs for a living so it's probably dead easy to fix. ...........i'll bid for it in the last 1/2 hour .

If you get it around what its currently at , and is all as described thats a cracking deal. Paid over 3K for mine :-(

But still worth every penny even at that price. After ISF calibration ( a must for such a prestigious tv ) it will blow you away if you get it.

Am looking to sell mine. Hard to find the right buyer though as got no box
sell what.............VT 65'' ?

if it's the last model or the one before then i'm interested, but it would need to be in good condition and you'd need to act fast because the VT i'm interested in ends tomorrow

i've got the TX 55 ST 50
