Anyone recommend one or more?

The time has come to extend our family somewhat and why not do it big style?!

3 Bed detached. Large Garden. 3 month old boy. 5 year old yellow Laprador.. Sorry, Labrador. One black cat. Lots of time spare.

After looking at breeds to go for we (read: I) nailed it down to Rotty, another Lab and a Newfoundland. After much discussion we decided on a Newfie. Done the research on health, maintenance, training etc. Nothing to complicated for us (read: me as I will be training him or her). I have trained an bought up two Labs over the last 7 years, both very happy and healthy and with great temperaments.

Any suggestions on good breeders in the Midlands? I have been on the KC site and looked at various local breeders on various websites but I always think word of mouth and first hand experience is best.:)

I know nothing about these Dogs however I know a good friend got one recently from Holland as he couldn't find a good breeder here in the UK.

Would you like me to ask him for you?

Can't help with breeders unfortunately but I'd suggest looking at their paws as puppies and pick one that has slightly smaller paws than the others. They're massive dogs!

There are plenty of good breeders in the UK. Have a look at Champ Dogs website, no idea why you'd need to go abroad if you search hard enough but then we've got buyers from the USA and Finland for some of our Pointers so who knows. Be prepared to travel if you want a truly great pedigree, we've had someone from Fife only last week and they have to come back again to pick it up when they're old enough.

I am only passing on what he told me as I said, I don't know.

The dog however is stunning! it is huge, however. It is 8 months old and is very large and has MASSIVE paws. Eats a huge amount too.

:)

I apologise if it seemed I was having a go as that was not my intention at all. A lot of it is word of mouth among people into dog showing and a lot of the time there is a waiting list before someone has even decided to have a litter!

I know this may not be the answer your looking for but i would try to push you in the direction of rescue pups.

They need homes way more than anyone who's breeding dogs for money
