Any opinions on 550D vs 750D airflow wise?

I currently have a Corsair 550D which i've never really taken to since it doesn't really seem to contain noise all that well which is kinda the whole point of the case. I'm going to be running 280X Xfire soon and i'm not sure if the 550D allows enough air through front panel.

Anyone know if the 750D provides better airflow and if it's worth the hassle and money to upgrade?

Thanks

Just see how it goes I'd remove the middle hard drive cage for xfire so a fan can push through cooler air unobstructed to the gpu's.
The 550D is a very versatile case you can use the side panel and have taking front door off option for better cooling.

On air the top card in xfire sli is almost always going to run 10c+ hotter than the bottom the more important thing is how much of a gap there is between the cards the wider the better as the top card can just be drawing hot air from the bottom card.

550D to 750D would be a bit of a sidegrade better off buying some cheap better fans than your stock ones as I heard generic corsair fans are not the best.
your noise problems might be cured by rubber mounting all fans and using better 140mm fans.

Thanks, im actually finding temps of both cards to be perfectly acceptable playing GTA5 (65-75c). I use Akasa Apache Black's as case fans although undervolted to about 900rpm or so.

To be honest I just fancy a change, had the 550D for a few years now and it's a rather boring looking thing. Quite tempted by a Phanteks of some sort.

I have the 750d and I found having static pressure fans in the front to help with cooling much better. See sig for images off my crossfire setup.

Both stay with range of each other gta5 sends the into mid 80s

Going to be using corsair AIO on them very soon.

Having actually now fitted the side panel temps are mid 80's for the top card but rather worryingly its cooking my CPU with one of the cores hitting 90c even though i have an NH-D14 :(

I guess the hot air dumb into the case the cpu cooler is sucking up.
If you can grab yourself a corsair cpu cooler they much better because you can have them bring in cool air from outside the case.

Yeah i've been meaning to get AIO for the CPU for the looks if nothing else. And now it actually makes even more sense from a practical POV. I also wish my motherboard allowed for the cards to be further apart.

It's the first thing I look for in a motherboard now. The further apart the better chance I will buy it.

Doesn't sound right to me it shouldn't be hitting 90c on a noctua d14 ?

I would remove the middle hdd cage and or remove the entiire thing and bungee mount the hard drives in the 525 bay at the top

leaving 2x front fans to push air to the gpus unobstructed

In general I'd say xfire sli is always going to be noisy unless you watercool the top card or have 2x triple fanned good cooler cards

it's also worth trying taking both heatsinks off the cards and using your own thermal paste just a small rice sized bit in middle and let the sink spread it could easily drop load temps 10c + meaning less fan %
