****The Official The Avengers: Age of Ultron Thread ****

No, though technically Ultron can't be destroyed as far as i'm aware. The alternate ending involved Hulk going off into space from what I was told.

IIRC, Ultron was made with Adamantium, so is indestructible. I guess because of Fox having X-Men and Woverine, Marvel can't use adamantium. Wasn't Cap's shield also orginally vibranium, but was remade in adamantium by Tony Stark when it was replaced?

The movie go as far as saying Vison is made with the same material Captain's shield. Not sure about Ultron though.

If he is then it is a bit silly that he took a beating, any beating.

Thanos isn't very good at getting them, we are almost in phase 3 and he has jack **** :p

Actually it's funny you should say that because:
The mid credits scene in AAOU shows Thanos putting his hand in the Infinity Gauntlet and saying "fine. I'll do it myself". It's worth noting that when he says this, there are no Infinity Stones attached to the glove
:D

US alternate?
Well the Hulk didn't go into space in the US version, maybe ejected from the jet and swam to Fiji was the shown scenario and they didn't show any bots surviving.

So I'm not sure what the alternate US was supposed to be as I've not seen the UK version.
:)

Saw it last night, really enjoyed it. Didn't look at my watch once and was kept guessing until the end how things would play out. Personally I think it's a better film than the first one. Several scenes felt out of place though and I fear thats down to Whedon having to chop it down by 25 minutes to satisfy the theatre owners who have a commercial dislike of 3 hour movies not made by Peter Jackson... Expecting the extended cut to make those scenes, particularly one involving Thor make more sense and feel less 'tacked on'.

Seen it.

Some of the cgi was crap, mainly the first fight part.
Bit too much humour.
Havent read the books so dont see what people mean about him being underpowered etc. it did feel a bit disjointed though, like the whole movie was about the ending, creating the Vision and breaking up the existing Avengers team, just to make the New Avengers...

On one hand, I stand by my original feeling on the movie. But on the other, now that I thought about it more, Josh Whedon has done an remarkable job to juggle both the massive franchise that this is and made a coherent movie out of all these characters on top of setting up a bunch of movies in the future in the Marvel universe.

That is the thing, the studio needed him to set up storylines for future movies from this and in that regard he has done an amazing job blending those in, whilst not disrupting the pacing go the movie too much.

Having watched the trailer about 10 times I'm sorry to say that I was disappointed with the movie itself.

The action was far too quick, I couldn't make out half the stuff going on. Ultron was poor. They touched on how much he hated Tony but didn't explore it enough. In the end he was just another villain with no depth whatsoever. He cracked an awful lot of jokes, for an 8ft tall robot he wasn't very intimidating. Plus him and Tony barely had any screen time together, and the final fight was a let down. I thought the fact they saved EVERYBODY was corny as hell. Like when cap tries to save the car and the bumper falls off? Then Thor comes from no where and saves them. I was under the impression cap was going to blame Tony for the 1000's of deaths. But I only counted one so have no idea how civil war will kick off. There's other stuff but cba going into it.

The vision was spot on though.

I was so sure Barton was going to die, they made most of his bits about his family and all the rest of it, was disappointed when he didn't tbh..
