I have bought a house with 2 living rooms (Posh hey), no not that posh really on a 3 Bed semi!

The Mrs however said we can use the other as a Gaming room (No you cant all Marry her) :p

I have PS3/PS4/Xbox 360/ Xbox One and only play driving games, OK I own battlefield 4 but EVERYTHING else is driving.
Im considering hooking up my PC too this new monitor/TV too as I only have a 21" rubbish thing in my office however only have a 7950 GFX in it too even tho I have a 4770K CPU.

Id like a 50" 4K TV with a Display port or HDMI 2.0, however after reading on here I can see you guys saying get a 50" 1920x1080 OLED screen.... Do you? I Know None of the consoles can do 4K yet, but possibility they will soon, Im happy to buy a new GFX card and have been saving for this too (670 or something)
I have a racing seat etc...

Any advice?

the only amd displayport compatible 4k 50" is panasonic 802b. with hdmi 2.0 (assuming you have a gtx970/80/TX) it opens up all of this years 4k televisions however expect to pay more. The panasonic has been sold for as low as £649 by the official panasonic refurb store on ebay and I bought one but you pretty much have to pay £1200 for a new one now seeing as those are all gone.

1080 will be WAY easier to run games on. Your looking at SLI/crossfire of the best gpu's you can get, in order to power 4k at good enough frame rates, and as new games come out, you will be needing to upgrade again as the current ones are only good enough, without a lot of breathing room unless you are going tri/quad etc.

This gen consoles wont be doing 4k gaming at all, they can barely cope with most games at 1080p - although they might do media, but why does that matter if youve got a PC hooked up anyway?

But, I would probably go 4k anyway. Then run games in 1080p since 4k is quad 1080, it shouldnt have scaling issues and should look ok.

So really, its a choice of sharpness, or better contrast/colours. Have you gone in a shop and had a look at the screens? I saw a demo of OLED compared to their top LED and it was like the difference between LCD and LED all over again.

Ive seen 4k content on 50" through the demo DVD's and its night and day difference to me and the Mrs. Just so little 4k stuff now and keep hearing 4k standards not been finalized. Really wanting to buy somthing now as been putting it off for ages! I dont play the latest games.... well maybe project cars next week, but only stuff like Ride, Settlers, GTA.

I would go to a shop, and take a look at OLED and 4k screens, see which you prefer. For couch gaming I find 1080p perfectly fine, but you might prefer 4k over better colours etc.
I suppose after just looking at the screen differences, future proofing wise its down to the fact that as you upgrade GPU's you will be able to play more at 4k Native res, whereas OLED it wont get any "better" than it is when you first buy it, except for DSR/AA etc.

It probably largely depends on the exact screen models anyway, my 46" Samsung LED from years ago still looks WAY better than all the cheaper models/smart tv's unless I spend really high again.

Im 4770k and GFX is only a 7950 at min (Yes I know I need to change it for monitor but I know this).

I run a 840 Pro SSD and 16GB DDR3.
I presume my GFX my only real bottle neck. It does play everything I play smooth at 1920x1080 at min, but Project cars out next week ;-)
