I only have a small garden, ~ 50ft x 20ft, and need a new Lawn Mower.

Does anyone have any experience with the cordless electric ones? I was going to get a petrol mower as I do find the normal corded electric mowers a bit of a pita tbh but these seem like a good alternative, if they are any good overall.

Looking at a budget of up to £200

Not as much of a PITA after a few years when the battery will only do half the lawn before it needs a recharge I bet :p

I did wonder this, but the one I was looking at said the battery had a 1000 charge cycle life - which at what, 20 cuts a year is 50 years!

people have done tests on batteries, if they are stored charged, after a year they lose most capacity (down to like 80%), empty they lose some, and 50% they lose the least.

This was on laptop batteries though.

So it will in now way ever last you 50 years :P

Heh, yea, I was being a little tongue in cheek :p I wouldn't expect the battery to last anything like that....well, neither would the mower!

Just wondering if they are worth it that's all.

I've heard the Bosch ones are excellent.
Love my cordless bosch mower

(I bought it last year in april 2014)

I also have the 36v Bosch AHS 54-20 LI Cordless Hedge cutter which takes the same 36volt battery's and am going be buying the new bosch 36v cordless strimmer very soon that just been released this year..

You can get the bosch cordless 32" mower and last year model 37" cordless mower for a little under £300 (But that still going be over the OP recommended £200 budget)
