Hi folks,

Building a new system for my mate, and upon fitting his new Asus Z97 Pro gamer board with the Corsair H55 pump, i have noticed the plastic backplate is just and just touching on a couple of soldered joints. There's no real tension on it.
Do you all think this will be okay?

Also, has anyone noticed that using the socket 1156 holes for socket 1150, the backplate sits on an angle?

Thanks,
Andy

Yes I noticed it sat funny too!

I had it exactly the same on mine, when I had it. There's no way to stop it from sitting on them. Be careful if you take it off a couple of times, I noticed that one of the nuts that you screw into had chewed the plastic and was just spinning.

I'm just going to finish building it and see how it works now. As long as it doesn't hurt it sat on those soldered joints, then it should all be good

Hi Andy,
That is perfectly normal, including the way it is fitted on back of your board where it is angled a little.

A little off topic with this thread but to do with a H55, i lost one of the nuts for mine and opened a ticket this afternoon, within 30 minutes i had an answer and they are sending me out a new bolt kit. Very impressed!

Thank you for sharing that wonderful experience. It is much appreciated :)

I'm glad that we were able to sort it out for you within a matter of minutes - impressive indeed.
