Insomnia i55 - August 28th > 31st

My brother has decided we are going, on the basis that i pass my driving test next week.

No point me taking my own PC as i'm terrible! Or would this be missing the point?

It's a LAN event. You take no computer, you have nothing to play games on. BYOC = Bring your own computer.

There would be events happening but I doubt they would be on around the clock.

How come the website sucks so bad?

Trying to find what tournaments etc they have on and there is no information whatsoever.

I've just discussed this with a friend whom I was going to go to gamescom this year with and we decided it would be best if we went to Insomnia instead.

It would be nice to meet a few people from here.

One question I have to ask which isn't mentioned on the website..how are you supposed to lock down your PC to the desk?

Buy a Kensington Lock kit!

It comes with a clip for cables and a self adhesive lock for the base unit which will feed through to the monitor!

The big pad will stick to the back of the PC, the little U shaped one is for mouse/KB and the other 2 are for monitors.

Alternatively - take your mouse, keyboard and headphones with you at night.

At the very least, put them out of sight or use a normal padlock around the cables (under the desk) to make it nearly impossible to remove without cutting.

Most people are fine but just use some common sense really. Don't leave your phone, wallet etc on the desk .

I did think so.. It Would look like I'm moving out, it's the only thing in my Room!

My brother and I will be there!

What's The best way to transport a pc?

i17 for TFC...you were 7 too late!

Agreed I was too late, but still it was good, there were a fair few clans there even at i17 and im pretty sure we had the biggest gaming area...the whole of the upstairs!

Loved it even at 14, and yes we had to hide the under 18 band, but some of the older guys got me a few.

Went to i99 at Swindon's F.C's ground, was the first LAN, me and my mate carted my 19inch CRT and my whole PC from Liverpool via cab and trains, bloody mental we was! Nearly killed us lol. Also went to I4,i7,I9 at Newbury race course and maybe another after that, was a great time and took part in the Quake 2 & 3 competitions

in the summer top floor so hot much sadness i just liked the pub being separate made for some good times.

Should have booked it earlier :P

What gigs provide with each ticket holder with a 100mbit internet connection?

Along with a gig being one evening of entertainment, and this, with early access, being from 6pm thursday (or a bit earlier) until Monday at around 12-3.

Last one I went to was at telford, and they had a band etc on the saturday night there, so technically you get a kind of gig included if they still do that.

Along with the tournament viewing, youtubers doing stuff, the sales/"exhibition" hall, and a million little mine craft kids and parents wandering around in your way. How many gigs have that? :/
