Should i swap out my 2x6950s for a 970?

Speaking as someone who upgraded from 2x 6950s to a 970 I can say its a worthwhile upgrade. Its a noticeable improvement and without the hassle of crossfire. Currently playing GTA V at high/very high settings with 2xMSAA and for the majority of the time I am locked at 60fps. Using the recommended settings in the GTA thread.

Like others have said you may want to wait and see what offers are around the corner but if you are after an upgrade right now then I'd say go for it.

I have the MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition which is on offer for £269.99 this week. Its a great card at that price and very quiet.

im debating between the MSI or the KFA2, thanks for your answer its exactly what i needed to hear :) cant hold out longer as i need the witcher 3 and the current offer makes sense ;)

At the end of the day there's always something new around the corner that people say to wait for, if you did that you'd never buy anything.

If the 970 does everything you're after at a price you're happy with then there's no reason to hang on, especially seeing as it comes with the game you're after.

yea thats my thinking, plus was on the fence about batman anyway so thats handy.. either way my ps4 will grow dust again now :D

IMO yes, very yes.

You are looking at doubling your performance (or more than tripling it in titles without CF support) while reducing your GPU power usage and heat generation by about 60%, which also means quieter computing.

It's a no brainer from where I am looking.

If you was thinking of getting a 980 I would say definitely wait for the new cards, but if it's a 970 go for it. The 970s are at good prices again and with two free top games it would be rude not to grab one. Be quick though the Witcher 3 might not be in the bundle for too long as it's so close to release according to Gibbo.

Thanks guys bit the bullet and ordered the MSI gaming 970 last night for 269.99 with the 2 games! happy :) dispatched today, got my game codes so excited to recieve it tomorrow :)

What's the best price it's ever been?

No idea but a few months ago prices were £10-20 more because of more cost involved due to currency changes. Not going to get much better than £270 for the lovely Twin Froze and two top games though.
