Also, memory that is supposed to run at 1.65v (insert timings here) and 2400, gives me bit errors in the hammer test unless i use the default 1600 1.5v etc settings

That can be the case unfortunately, with high speed memory, as the motherboard doesn't officially support memory over 1600 MHz. Anything over is classed as an over clocked.
Have you tried running at 1600 with 1.55v or greater as the voltages may need to be raised even at 1600 MHz for stability?
