SATA card cant be seen

so, on opening comp to remove a sound card and wifi card, then closed back up.

the sata add in card suddenly not working. it cant install a driver. so i manually told it to use a driver. for a sil3114 but its actually a 3112.

so now, the card cant be seen full stop by windows. have opened and reset it twice, just cannot be seen.

help! suggestions, anything. surely telling it to use the wrong driver cant have killed it can it?
 
Go to device manager identify sata controller uninstall and delete drivers for this
Reboot and the card `should` show up asking for drivers.Give it the correct ones this time
Should sort it out for you :)

no, the issue is is no longer shows period in the device manager. not even as an unidentified device.

tbh i gave up dicking about with it and just pulled the card and stuck in another, different one i had in. it instalntly worked. no clue if its soem super weild driver issue or tha card somehow chose then to die.
