I need a new power supply since GPU-Z says my GTX980 is being throttled due to insufficient power

I've been waiting ages for the hx1200i to finally appear and be in stock. It seems to be 50quid cheaper than their flagship range model the ax1200i.

but is the ax1200i worth the 50 quid extra ?

You mis understanding what GPUZ is telling you.

Its referenceing the power limit on the card,unrelated to your PSU.You either need to increace the power limit via Afterburner,or flash a bios with a custom power limit.

I'll go and read up a bit more on GPU-Z
