****Official Project CARS thread****

I'm still on default settings and mode 3, although changed the shifting to X & B then stuck KERS on one of the shoulder buttons...and have just got used to it (tuned myself instead of the controller)....no problems at all across all the cars I've tried so far.

I won most of the races against my friends last night across various cars and tracks, I very rarely spin out..they were spinning or going off at least once each per race (my friends have been messing about with controller settings).

Feel like I'm missing out on the "fun" somewhat though ;)

It was either this forum or another, someone asked about warming up tyres. Some cars take a few laps or less.
But I was driving the Ford Focus which seems to handle like a cruise liner and the front tyres warmed up fine but the rears never warmed up after 4 or 5 laps of Brands Hatch.

Is there something I should have adjusted in the car setup to warm them quicker?

thanks

I've found sometimes my right rear does not warm up as fast, does anyone know if weaving about (like in F1) works or is it more about getting speed to get them warm ?

Apparently SMS worked all over the weekend on fixes etc .. Which is good. I will admit game is not broken but it needs work, time will tell .

I've also found oit performance is better by turning off dynamic weather. Just set a fixed weather and visual tearing reduces..

i wouldnt say its broke but in most places ( except GT3 cars ) the game for me on x1 with a controller is pretty much unplayable. i think visiting the official forum and a few other ones that the game could pretty much die a quick death if the devs aint careful. ive even toyed with the idea of asking for a refund on my digital purchase as the controls make it one of the most frustrating games ive played.

however when i play the GT3 series it can show u how good a game it could possibly be

Drive Club was worse than this on release and people had more luck getting blood out of a stone. You've got no chance with a refund on Project Cars.

its all how u ask, i had a refund for halo MCC last week 7 months or so after initial purchase

The difference here is your dealing with Microsoft so you have a far greater chance of getting the outcome you want than should you be trying to deal with Sony. :p

There is apparently a known issue with the XB1 controller so may be worth holding on for the next patch before going down this route as there is fundamentally a good game here.

What are the better wheels to consider for a XB1 console?

I've just purchased the game. But i'm thinking a wheel will allow me to enjoy this and other racing games much more. Seems silly not having one when racing games are what i use my console for 90% of the time.

yeah thats why i decided to wait for the patch after reading the official blogs from the devs. at least they admitted that the controls for the x1 were broken and doing something about it

Picking up my PS4 copy tonight. Interesting to try the full version now I'm used to it on Xbox ONE.

I'm getting very noticeable frame rate drops/stuttering on Oulton Park in quick race mode with full grid on Xbox ONE...that'll be my first test on the PS4.

really hope they fix the blue flag/back markers in the patch, sick of them blocking you all the time :( and has anyone had issues with wet weather/tyre performance. i was doing a endurance race with the R18 TDI and it started raining so i was the only one to stop for inters and the AI was still going as fast in the rain but it then stopped raining and dryed out but i left the inters on and was faster than the AI who were still on slicks.

Does seem to have a few wired issues here and there

The Thrustmaster TX Wheel is excellent, and works on PC too!

The stock pedals are a bit crap though, but they do sell upgraded pedals, in fact you can use most of the T500RS accessories, like different wheels etc..

Other then that, the only other decent option is too expensive, the Fanatec Clubsport Wheel Base V2, but that's £900 for a base/wheel/XB1 adapter, although that is a wheel for life kind of thing!

I run a Thrustmaster TX Wheel, and a set of Fanatec Clubsport Pedals, although I had to make my own adapter between the pedals and wheel, but it's a fantastic combo.

Doesn't need to work on the PC, and i'm not looking to spend more than £300 max, ideally a lot less, but i doubt that's really an option.

The three i'm considering are:

Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel (£65 but has no force feedback)
Thrustmaster TX (£300 ish)
Mad Catz Pro Racing Wheel (£300 ish)

The Mad Catz wheel looks really good, and seems to get good reviews. But Thrustmaster seems to be a more popular choice by the looks of it. I'm tempted to buy the cheaper wheel to see how i get on with it, but i'm put off by the fact it doesn't have force feedback and that it's so much cheaper, and I know i'll probably buy the more expensive wheel a little later down the line anyway.

With a wheel I would say buy right and buy once. I wouldn't even consider a wheel without ffb, it makes the wheel much better and adds to the immersion greatly. They aren't cheap but buy the right one and it should last the whole of this generation of consoles.

Hopefully they'll sort out annoying AI cars who don't get out of the way while they are on a out lap and I'm on my hot lap.

Reading there's an incoming patch soon for the XB1 version, controller issues and a "4-7%" performance improvement. Here's hoping as it does get a bit choppy at times. To that end, anyone tinkered with the graphical settings, any settings in particular that can be changes to yield a few more Frames?

If I'm honest I'm looking forward to gt7 more then ever now. Project cars is good when it works , but a lot of it just feels unfinished and not polished at all. I'm a bit disappointed with it , I think I knew deep down it would not be as good as I'd hoped but I endured and hoped for the best.

I haven't started career mode due to pit stop bugs and missing pit crew, I've been so disappointed with the ps4 performance. The replays are awful and the photo mode is terrible, not designed for a control pad at all.

Its a 7/10 game for me right now, but if they patch it up then this game could be epic.

I think its bloody awesome. Yes it haa flaws. Flaws that annoy the hell out of me. But I am confident they'll be resolved.

As for GT7. I have no expectations for that game. Year up year I've felt let down by PDs offerings. The was a time when a GT game was a day one purchase. Not anymore. the gameplay and atmosphere offered by project cars blows it out of the water. Let's not even talk about graphics. As that would be unfair

Yeah that is annoying. The manager ends up telling you (the one on the out lap ) to get out of the way.. I be like "yeah right"
