Best easy way to move 8x4ft snooker table?

I think you need to wipe the slate clean and think of new ideas. Here is a tip from me, put your hands in your pockets and stop playing with your balls and pay someone to move it

Just be careful that you don't break it.

I remember staff in a sergeants' mess in Germany decided to move the snooker table against the wall so they could cover it with a board and utilise it for a buffet.

Next day they moved it back. Unknowing to the staff the table top (under the baize) was actually large individual pieces of thick slate. By moving the table they chipped the top edges of the slate where they butted against another piece and largish shards of slate dislodged themselves under the baize.

The end result was the firm that rented the sergeants' mess the table had to come out and re-level the table and fill the gaps created by the move with some cement type solution.

I'd suggest you ask advice from a local snooker hall/British Legion etc

Explosive charges use just the right explosive, in the right quantity, at precisie points on the table and you can blow the snooker table accross the room with ease and little to no damage!

What make is the table? Do you have any pictures?

Where are people getting the idea it has multiple slates? The playing surface will probably be either 6x3 or 7x3 (or 4) so chances are it will be one piece of slate (if it even has a slate bed) usually the cloth is stuck to the slate so you can in fact take it off in one lump, just make sure you realign it properly.

Also, them puns :p :D
