Got a sapphire 6950 that i would like to flash to 6970
(it should be flashable, is is the original reference sapphire)

I am wondering if the below thread here on OCuk is still relevant?

Only the bios links no longer resolve, and to be honest i don't want to read through 51 pages to find out if the method mentioned in the 1st post has been predeceased with a better method.

Any advice or links would be great.

The card needs to be a 2gb model and have the dual bios switch as far as I can remember. Also it's a bit safer to unlock the extra shaders using a 6950 bios than flash to a 6970.

It is the 2gb version with a dual bios switch, i will give the flashing a go in a little while :D Thanks for the advice!

Another small issue = the 6 pin connectors come out of the side of the card. however the case is a tight fit (too narrow) so i have had to bend the wires to right angle, and give the case a little force as it pushed up against the wires.
Is there anything like a low profile right angle adaptor for the 6pin connectors? (idealy sold at OCuk)?
I can find right angle (slightly lower) 6 pin PCIe adaptors on an auction site but ALL of them are in the USA :-(
