****Official Project CARS thread****

I used one with the ps3 - it's a decent replacement for a stand, but not that sturdy so if you're quite aggressive with your cornering you might throw your ironing board across the living room! :D

Agreed. Although mine has held up fairly well. Will get a stand at some point though. For now the board will do.

Pmsl

been using ironing boards since my first wheel. That Logitech one they made for gran turismo.

Will try to take a pic tonight.

Disclaimer: not me! :D

the iron pic setup reminds me of heatseeker and his battlefield 4 / running machine setup. Crackers the lot of you :D

Really want to get in on the multiplayer action but refuse to pay £45 retail!

Huge improvements over on PC version with new patch and using gamepad. Its totally changed how every car feels with a gamepad. Its much tighter, much better. On par with PS4 now, whatever SMS changed its worked.

I'm wondering if this patch will also improve Ps4 handling, although PS4 was pretty good already IMO.

But, good news for X1 players as PC seemed to shared the same issue the X1 did with controlling cars - in other words with a gamead it was awful. not anymore.

Cheers will give these a go.

Hi moogleys.
So how are you finding the ps4 version, I've only played it for 30 mins or so on my Pc. R9 290 /i5 4670 and found it to choppy to enjoy, what's the frame rate like for ps4 & how often does it dip and by how much in bad weather and is there much screen tearing?

Thanks for any impressions berty

It ran pretty well on my system with a 780. The PS4 version is a bit more choppy at times it stutters a bit when the weather gets bad and it does tear at times. It also seems blurry compared to PC on same screen.

But that's worst case scenario. Most of the time it runs ok. My main gripes are more with the over twitchy handling it never feels like you are in full control to me. The cars just dart sideways rather than glide if that makes sense. I find you are always making lots of small movements on the sticks and tank slippers are far to easy to get into.

When it all works it's a fantastic race. I have found the Ai to be superb and aggressive but not unfair. You do feel a sense of achievement when you fight your way up the grid. It really makes you feel "In the race"...

It needs fixing and hopefully it will be. Not being able to change control settings in race is a pain when trying to find a suitable setup. You should at least be able to do this in a single race.

In short It's still a solid race game and well worth a go.....

Waffle over... :)
