I got around to finishing this the other day, I had only played through maybe a third of it when I started.
WOW. Seriously, hats off to those who made Never Alone. Incredible experience of a game. Sound track, graphics, and story.. all top notch. Ironically the game play is probably the weakest thing because its so simple but you really don't care by the end. I'll put what I put up on facebook about this game to save myself typing it all out again.
"Just finished one of the most beautiful games I've ever played.
In Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) you play as a young girl from the indigenous Alaskan Iñupiaq people who is trying to save her village. It's simple enough as a game, but you are actually playing through a traditional story called Kunuuksaayuka that has told through generations.
Best of all, throughout the game you get snippets of video and interviews from actual Iñupiaq people These tell you all about their way of life, their traditions, their values and the land that they live off. Then you experience these things yourself as you play though the game.
If you want to learn something about an amazing group of people, check this game out. A really great experience, I wish more games tried to teach you things like this one has. It's not all about just shooting things and watching stuff explode... "
