How much does screen quality bother you?

Don't think I could handle a TN screen after using IPS monitors for years - a 19" god knows how old LCD? hell no!

Having suffered ips glow on a number of devices, I actively avoid IPS
I thought the same thing about TN (having never used it, and read a lot of bad things about it) until I got the Rog Swift. Been IPS and VA for years.
Situation turned on head.
The only real issue is the colour shift, but when you sit still when gaming, it's not an issue. The colour reproduction once calibrated is very very good.

Never going back to tn, IPS or VA for me so yes screen quality matters quite a bit 
One thing, which a lot of people never think about is the anti-glare/matte coating, it makes such a massive difference to the clarity/sharpness, contrast etc. so that is equally just as important as the panel tech. imo.

I however have used TN panels and never liked them. The amount of colour shift is just too much. I can deal with a bit from a VA panel but not as much as you get from TN.

I would prefer no AG coating too but with the amount of light in my room, it would be reflection galore 
The newer TN panels do sound very good but there is no way that I could put up with the contrast shift and the heavy anti-glare coatings.

I must be lucky, because as much as I hear people complaining about IPS glow, I've have had a display where it's only barely noticeable on an all black screen.
I've also noticed some people confuse back light bleed with IPS glow.
Some blinds would fix that.^^

I like my colours to be reasonably accurate when sitting at the panel - if I'm doing colour critical stuff I'll use an IPS or PLS panel but otherwise not that bothered aslong as the panel is sharp and colours look reasonably accurate and natural.
Some blinds would fix that.
I know but it still wouldn't be good enough for my room and I don't want to use my pc in complete darkness
I've got some translucent blinds that let a lot of light in, but effectively diffuse it. The run rises opposite my windows too, so I get tho whole blast of sunlight with them open. But with them closed, the room is still really bright, and I can even use glass fronted monitors without glare!
