Firefox 29?

Its just going downhill and downhill for me from 34.0.5 onwards, 36.0.4 was frequently losing my previous session tabs on startup on 2 systems, had to use about:config to change the new tab url to about:blank or it would come up with invalid address or sometimes crash on opening a new tab, performance is bottoming out 37 seems to be struggling to stay responsive in one tab if a site on another tab is remotely busy and complex sites are taking 2-3x longer to load than before 34 not to mention the other UI issues...

Almost ready to swap to internet explorer.

Try disabling hardware acceleration, also remove all your old FF profiles.

Personally no issues for me,still fast as ever.

I'm a long time FF user and have stuck with it even during bad patches. However, due to Chrome defaulting to HTML5 on YouTube a couple of weeks back I decided to give it a go. As soon as I installed a nice custom theme and some extensions, set up Sync, bookmarks etc, I was pretty much sold on Chrome over FF. It just seems smoother and runs far better on Macs than FF seems to. There is also the issue with FF never supporting iOS. So, after many years, it's goodbye FF from me.

Its not just on one system - some like the tablet I'm on now is a fresh install of 37 with no prior versions.

Firefox 38 came out today, best get updating :)

Changes include improved rendering performance, HTML5 changes, seems Youtube HTML5 is back, options page is in its own tab now like Chrome, but better and various other fixes/changes.

Curious, what is peoples start up time? Under Help, Firefox Health Report. As well as date for stability from last crash.

That's pretty cool, never knew that page existed!

Based on 3 pinned tabs (Netvibes, Feedly and GMail) loading up on each cold startup and whatever tabs I had open after them if I didn't close any before closing Firefox.

Will compare this after a week of using v38.

And 38.0.1 just came out which explains why I was being told that firefox was up to date when it was on version 37.0.2

Just looking at maybe moving to firefox from chrome as the new chrome bookmarking system looks like it was designed for tablets :(

Does anyone use any bookmarks sync addons or should I just use the mozilla sync? (need to sync across linux, windows & maybe android)

No reason to use addons when Firefox Sync will sync whatever you need across platforms perfectly. In turn you can cross send tabs between devices this way too.

Nice :)

I didn't realise you could disable it.
I messaged google twice a few weeks ago questioning why bookmarks had changed and if I could disable it.
They didn't reply back :(

I've setup firefox sync and imported bookmarks now :)
I have had both chrome and firefox installed for testing webdev stuff but might give firefox a try as my main browser just to see if it's better/worse.
