AND GHz vs INTEL GHz

^ Ask a vague question and get crap answers.

Here's a straight stock clocks comparison http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1260?vs=697

In Handbrake (4K) you'd need to put the 8350 up to about 5.3 GHz.

In x264 and x265 about 5.0 GHz.

In Cinebench R15 about 5.6 GHz.

Games are generally not very CPU limited so that depends entirely on the game. Most games are roughly similar. Where the 8350 really struggles (e.g. min FPS) probably no amount of overclocking will help.

It depends entirely what you mean.

Getting 1 AMD core to matching 1 Intel core.
Or getting an FX83 to match your current CPU in X or Y app.

Either way, if you're considering changing your i7 to an FX83, it's a silly idea.

Hi Nope, not considering changing to AMD, just curiosity. I believe AMD overclockibility in ghz causes a lot of confusion for newbs. Just thought it would be worth while comparing core to core performance.

Hope AMD bring some real competition and not just more cores.... Intel are milking us all 5% ipc increase per release =\

Considering they were released in 2012 I recall the 8320 was pitched at the i5-3450. Whilst I agree AMD have not released anything since that increases the ipc compared to intel its not really a fair comparison if your judging it against devils canyon its two years newer (and intels better ipc).

Not milking us if we don't buy them because they aren't worth the money. That's why I still have a 2600k :)

That is why I have my 3570k, I will upgrade when Intel stop being panzis or after another 3 years when they are at least 50% quicker than what I have now.
