anyone else not seeing too much of an issue with this - the kid is a bit podgy.... OK he isn't likely the fattest kid in class but is either not very active or the parents are feeding him rubbish

so the nurse has measured/weighed him and pointed out his BMI* makes him obese - I'm not sure there is much excuse for this kid's wait other than parents giving him a bad diet ergo the suggestion of some education is probably a sound one two

(*yes I know, 99% of OCUK are elite athletes/bodybuilders for whom BMI doesn't work)

BMI is stupid.

That kid isn't fat, but there's a lot who are. And being too fat is not an excuse. Unless it's about someone who is fat and they want to be a passenger, then it's the reason you're not in the back. :p

Well according to those given figures for his age he is in 25th to 50th percentile for his weight, and 2nd to 9th percentile for his height therefore they should be looking at what goes on because he is very short for his age but of a just under average weight. I would look at this there could be a valid reason for this it warrants investigation.

Pretty irrelevant story really, as it was said on the Beeb recently that 1 in 2 people will get cancer anyway, regardless to lifestyle choices.

Oh, and this vv

Daily Fail is absolutely fine on a mostly conservative forum such as OCUK.

Politics doesn't really come into it, it's a garbage news source regardless yet you frequently start threads with DM links and quotes, with a particular fixation on obesity it seems.

not particularly - recently there has been the transsexual wanting to use female changing rooms, the parking note, the body shaming protein world ad, unemployed youth to pick up litter and the MP suggesting astrology should be used by the NHS

if you don't like occasional daily fail threads then ignore them, they seem to be popular enough
