I've just been out and cycled a windy 17 miles. I wondered whether my waxed legs would feel cold without their manly fur to keep them warm, but they didn't. The wind was ridiculous when I was going into it, but it helped on the mid section of the ride when I had it behind me. Between that and chasing down a couple of other cyclists I scored a couple of PRs on segments I've not beaten in 2 years.

Went out for around 50 km this morning and I too can vouch for the wind! Was pretty strong. Bumped into a guy who was on the club ride on the way round and rode with him for a bit before splitting. Saw at least three other North Cheshire Clarion riders too.

Now I find myself looking for workstands, for giggles I checked my Wiggle discount area and I'm at £936.80 for the last year already (to be fair, £664 of that was the bike but still, not really sure what I spent the remaining £270 on!)

I've just picked myself up a Park Tools "Home Mechanic" workstand (PCS9) from Halfords. About £75, which is decent considering the prices of others out there. Seems good and sturdy.

Aldi still had some of their recent £25 workstands in stock last time I looked. It's not as good as the Park Tools one but it's decent enough for the price.

Looking at Stava Flyby we passed each other on the roundabout at Bents! We went round on opposite sides at the same time!

Balls out club run ride today. Lovely day for it though, had arm warmers on when I started and thought ooh bit chilly, but as soon as started climbing was soon up to temp!

Got a shout on the way back from someone saying my rear wheel was rolling quite far to the right, so said I'd pull over and take a look, couldn't see anything and it is rolling relatively straight. Anyone had this before? Going to give the wheel and drop outs etc a good clean out.

Thought they'd ease the pace back a bit, but took me about 2 and a bit miles of tempo to catch them up. That was one match I couldn't relight for the rest of the day!

Gonna chill whilst watching the Giro now!

Thanks on the work stand recommendations, shall take a look (though Halfords I loath to go back as their customer service sucks)

I had a good experience - the Park Tools stand is a web only thing, so there wasn't one in store to look at. They ordered it in for me, and it was in 2 days later.

Don't know if anyone is interested but Guy Martin is trying to beat the bike speed record of 110mph  on channel4

What are peoples experience of Michelin Pro Race 3's? There are quite a few places online doing them at very tempting prices but I've read a good amount of reviews which say they aren't particularly durable, puncture wise?

Was going to go for Schwalbe Ultremo ZX's but they are double the price of the Michelins.

I've no personal experience, but I too have read that pro 3s are dire for durability. Pro 4 service course can be had for just over £20 each or 2 for £33 at decathlon at the moment, which is so good a price I might have to drive to my local store tomorrow to see if they have any.

Merlin have the ultremos in 23mm blue/black for £20 if that colour and width are any good to you.

Hmm. That's a good price for Pro 4's, reviews for those would indicate they can stand up to a bit more punishment than the Pro 3's. I spotted those Ultremos at Merlin but (and I know its a vanity thing) my Pinarello is black and white so blue would look a bit out of place. :)

OOooo the PureGardets one is awfully tempting
I looked around at all the different stands, they seemed rediculously priced for what they actually are. It had so many positive user reviews I ordered one, does everything I want.

Finalizing a new wheelset build for my N2A and can't decide on hub colour (worse problems to have..). Will be paired with black archetypes and black sapim spokes.
