I have stupidly managed to bend some of the pins on the USB3.0 connector on my Asus Maximus Impact VII motherboard.

I am going to try to bend them back into shape, but it seems as though this is likely to break them.

Is there any other way of connecting the USB3.0 ports on the front panel to the motherboard? It only has one PCI-E slot and I am using the internal USB2 already!

I had that on a second hand board.

Ended up breaking a pin trying to unbend it.

So I have USB2 on the front and need to use the ports on the back for USB3

I dislike those internal usb3 headers.

Fairly thin unsupported contacts.... mmm... genius idea.

Thanks. One of the pins has got more than a slight bend unfortunately!

I saw a recommendation of using a 0.7m mechanical pencil to try to straighten them up, which I'll try.

Run an extension out the back of the case and loop it up into a rear USB3 socket.
A number of older boards don't even have USB3 headers, so ^this is what a lot of owners do.

"Inateck PCI-E to USB 3.0 2-Port PCI Express Card and 15-Pin Power Connector, Mini PCI-E USB 3.0 Hub Controller Adapter, with Internal USB 3.0 20-PIN Connector"

£17.99 from the rainforest (No similar cards available from OCUK - Sorry if not allowed to post this)

I got these ages ago, I bought the 4 port one then had to buy the 5+2 port one for the header on my old motherboard. I cant throw them out, I lost the blank plate :D
