Paypal refunds, How long ?

If he has the information on screen, can he not just print screen the section that shows the transaction being made? Just edit out any important information.

Yep but he just said he should have taken a pic or filmed it, It's like talking to a brick wall :(

Something sounds fishy... As I always say, Paypal doesn't lie about transactions... :P

Well I've messaged paypal, I'll just send a screenshot of the message they send as proof to him.

Normally this dude is a top guy, This really baffles me.

I have asked him to check the refund status but he just kept saying "I should have filmed myself doing it" I said again the same thing "Just check the status of the transaction it will give you all the info" and he said again "I should have filmed myself".

Really baffles me as this guy is a grown man

Money can turn even the most adult of adults into babies.

He's probably refunded the wrong person and now doesn't want to refund you as well? Either way it sounds like he's not going to pay up? Was it PPG? If not can you not claim a refund?

Little update.

Well I just phoned PayPal luckily they are open at 8am, They confirmed no such refund or transaction has taken place ergo he's trying to con me.

Kind of saddens me as did think highly of this guy.

How much money are we talking here?

I feel for you man. That is pretty shocking behaviour from someone who you classed as a friend. Scumbag. Thieves are bad enough but ones that lie like that are even worse.

£300 which might not be much to some but I work my ass off literally for my money :(

300 quid is a lot to most people. What a scumbag. Is he just some online friend you made or someone you know personally. I'd be setting ocuk detectives or some nice people from another huge online community after him lol.

I can't say too much as it's early days, I'm giving him until noon, If he doesn't return my money I'll make his name public knowledge which will be extremely bad for his reputation considering I have 3 forms of proof, Facebook messages, Paypal transaction and Paypal customer service message.

I hope it doesn't come to that though.

Time to name and shame...

If it has to come to that I'll have to.

Wasn't on the OCUK MM was it? £300 over PPG I'd never do personally except on the OCUKMM, I'd tell them to invoice me on paypal otherwise.

Nope not overclockers.

Be very careful with this, all I've said is that it's clear you haven't been refunded. Given everything you've said about this guy so far, give him the benefit of the doubt. It sounds uncharacteristic of him to do this, so it's entirely possible that he's made a mistake somewhere and refunded someone something.

If he's playing you, that's of course on him, but if you incorrectly drag his name through the mud, that'd be on you. So make sure you find out everything and that you're 100% sure what's what before you take that sort of action.

It might even be a case of he knows that he hasn't refunded you, but doesn't have the money and is waiting to get paid himself, so has said it's been refunded in the hope that you hold on a bit longer so whilst he gets his funds sorted.

Of course, that's just an assumption of what could be, but be thorough in questioning him to ensure it's something sinister before you go down that avenue.

Hopefully you'll get it sorted asap though.

I'm really hoping it's that above as this is very uncharacteristic of him and I'm quite fond of him as a person.

If it is a con though I will name and shame as conning people is just wrong.

Throw a verbal warning at him to tell him about what could happen, should he not tell the truth. He is only making this harder on himself.

I have a friend who owes me money, the only difference is my friend will pay up eventually, and I know him in real life. So he can't escape. :p he just needs a kick up the arse. (owes me £430 but I know for certain I'll get it, as he's always paid up before)

Hope this does get sorted for you.

Don't do that ^

The last thing you need to do is say things that could be construed as some sort of threat.

Also, what's not real about Internet communication?

Alright, now you put it that way. Yes, don't do this, or if you do, say it in a nice way. But would this guy prefer to just have a kick up the arse or actually have something happen which could potentially hurt his business?

:D sorry, nothing. I meant in person.
