Hey guys,

I'm looking a getting a 4k monitor, the Acer XB280HK.

From time to time I may use it as a PS4 monitor or might PC game at 1080p for newer games.

Does the theory work out correctly, that since 4k is 4 times 1080p, it doesn't look too bad displaying 1080p on a 4k screen?

Yeh I saw your thread a month or so ago.

It does put me off a little bit yeh :(

Did you get it all sorted in the end? Didnt fancy scrolling through 5 pages :D

I will be able to do a bit of 4k. My thinking was I didnt want to buy a 1080p GSYNC now, and then when I get a new GPU next year then buy a 4k monitor.

I'd rather buy the 4k now and try and push it, or downgrade it to 1080p, and then next year I can just bump up to 4k rather than have to buy a new monitor.

Why not buy a basic 1080p IPS monitor now, then a 4K Gsync montior in 6/12 months time when a couple more come out. Should be some IPS ones out by then too.

Personally, I'm waiting for a 4K IPS Gsync montior to come out at a decent price before going to 4k. I'll keep my 1080p IPS screen as a 2nd monitor.

After about 2½ months I got a full refund. I think that gives you an idea of what to do. :)
