****Official Project CARS thread****

Lol true.

Issue I have is trying not to brake during entry. The margin between braking and the moment you need to turn is very tight. Miss it and you'll spin out

I was doing 1:46.2 on the pad last night in the BMW Z4 GT3. I'm absolutely shocking on the pad so missed every apex and wobbled all over down the straights.

Are you still using the RUF? I don't know if it is that I am simply used to the Z4 now but it is really controllable on the brakes and I never think I am going to spin throwing it in to that chicane. If I get time tonight I shall test the RUF and see how it handles differently.

Got a CSR and GT2 wheel, will be trying them out later, initial thoughts are TWITCHY! Need to change a lot of settings no doubt.

Someone posted earlier in the thread a link to another forum with information on how to set up a wheel based on some formula it seemed. Maybe take a look at that?

Yeah. Really only use the RUF.

Have have tried the Z4 once. Didn't really think much of it. That's only because I drove it for a short while.

Would anyone be interested in a weekly (or fortnightly) time trial? It'd just be a pretty basic thing (Google Doc) where you pick a car and track then post your time here. Any setups, assists, etc.

I can setup and update the doc if people are interested (or I make it editable and you update your own times)

Good idea Tim, I'd be up for that as it's less likely to fall on its arse when people can't make a certain time/date for a race.

Greboth; is that a PDF? I found something showing settings for ever car but I won't have time to really test them all out before I go on hols.

I am up for time trialling, can we do Watkins Glen as I seem quicker than most round it :D

This is the post http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=28049606&postcount=1112

I don't know if it is any good but might help your settings.

I simply cannot do Watkins

Use the Z4 or anything but the RUF, I tried the RUF and it is hard to throw into the chicane but you can throw the Z4 around without spinning.

Looks like Fanatec wheels could really do with patching within the game, some of the bugs are crazy.

Doesn't find the clutch pedal, you HAVE to set a button to clutch otherwise it is always engaged and you can't drive and paddles for L1/R1 don't work if auto clutch is set.

I am still using all the default set ups as I don't know any of the tracks well enough to be consistent enough to evaluate set up changes. I think as a default certain GT3 cars suit certain tracks, having tried the RUF around Watkins Glen I think that is a car that doesn't suit that track. Whether my driving style, the default set up or because I am using a pad but the Z4 understeers quite a bit but throught he chicane it is really useful.

Have you tried downloading a ghost in time tiral mode and comparing yourself? I didn't get time to yesterday but if you think it will help I am still willing to record a lap and stick it on youtube or something.

Im getting my TX wheel today, ive heard there are various problems with the FFB and other glitches. Can anyone advise on the settings to use until the patch comes out?

Looks good timmeh :) The amount everyone has been practising Watkins Glen we might as well do it as the first one. I assume any lap should be acompanied by an associated screenshot?

Edit: If we are actually doing Watkins Glen, screw uploading a video of my lap. I don't want to give my tricks away for a fast time :D
