Laptop for gaming budget £800-£1200

How do folks!

Looking for a newlaptop. It's time to retire old reliable, my 4 year old Dell XPS 17 (L701X).

Away on millitary deployment in a few months so hoping to take a laptop with me to save me from getting completely bored! The budget is slightly flexible, though bonus points for keeping within it! Any reccomendations will be warmly recieved.

The Proteus II on PC Specialist can be had for £995 with a 120gb SSD, 1TB HDD, GTX 970m, 15.6" FHD screen, 8GB RAM, Quad Core i7 4720HQ. Would be much better for straight up gaming than the Lenovo. Can change up the SSD to a 240GB for a total of £1055

Yeah but with an inferior TN panel and much worse speakers, ugly looking machine too, yuck

If you want a PC Specialist 15.6" 1080p IPS screen and very good Onkyo speakers with much better build quality that takes you over £1200.

Or Acer Aspire Nitro VN7-591G if you want to save a bit - I went for the i5 version with 2GB 960m for over £150 cheaper than the Lenovo.

If you are looking for something pretty powerful, have a look at our GT70

Used this chassis as my work laptop for a good 12 months. Comes with GTX 970M as well, so should handle pretty much any game you throw at it.

If you want to use an external display, this will also allow upto 3 external displays (2x Mini Display Port 1 x HDMI)

I'd go msi. My gt60 has been great. Wish I had a 970m but it was 870m when I bought mine.
