9am this morning I picked some mates up to take them to Liverpuddle, on the way out I clipped someones wing mirror :/

There was nowhere to park on that side (full of school run cars and I was in a large van+trailer) of the road and traffic was heavy so I went 350metres ish to the roundabout and came back down, when I got back the other car was gone.

I'm not sure If I go report it at the police station or not? It was the tiniest of nicks no damage to mine at all not even a scrape(not trying to evade anything).

Bit worried, what would you suggest?

A friend of mine once clipped a car on a roundabout. had nowhere to pull over as it was a busy roundabout in London so he took an exit and did a U-turn to park up and speak to the driver. The other driver had just disappeared so he went home. Next thing the police accuse him of leaving the scene of a crime and his insurance skyrockets.

I doubt very much this would happen in this case so I would forget about it :)

Ill prob have a look in the morning to see if it's nearby again, like i say there was nothing on mine at all so i cant see much being done to it.

we shall see :)

No harm in reporting it, and it'll protect you from leaving-the-scene.

I was parked up this morning dropping the kids off at the pool, and somebody hit my car and drove off! So mad. Drove after them but couldn't see where they'd gone. Reported to the police.

etc.

Report it as is your duty and, I'm sure, what you'd hope somebody else would do were they to clip your car.

Effectively, you've left the scene of an accident and can expect harsh treatment had somebody taken your number and reported you however unlikely it may seem that they have.

I clipped somebody's door (tore it off actually!:o)in my artic a few years back, by the time I had found a suitable place to park my 54ft long truck and walked back, Police were already there and the officer said had I not returned I'd have been in trouble!

I'm my case, the car I clipped was illegally parked and I was allowed on my way without issue, which struck me as contradicting the officers words somewhat!

rang 101 and reported it, nothings been reported so I'll wait and see if anything comes of it.
The lady said as I don't have the reg no of the other car she can't even make a note of it but it has been logged that I've called.

cheers folks :)

Good on you :).

Report it, something similar happened to me I got a letter stating that I had left the scene of an accident!! Thankfully I had reported it and a letter back with the reference number cleared it up.
