On the 20 May (Wednesday) I sold a PVR (Best Offer) on Ebay with the buyer seemingly just a couple or so miles away. She is also a Dr or at least she uses the title. She paid for the item very promptly less delivery obviously and messaged me what time would be OK for her to collect.

I replied on that occasion and in subsequent emails and Ebay messages that anytime during the day is fine. Sent her my address and a Google map location and nothing. No collection no message either email or via Ebay.

I am thinking scam but am at a loss as to what sort or scam might be involved.

I am also minded to give it another couple of days then refund her money paid via Paypal.

What thoughts have you?

Accepting payment by PayPal in combination with collection in person is dangerous, as you have no proof of delivery and the buyer can make a PayPal claim after picking up the item.

As she has made no attempt to collect then at the moment I cannot see the danger. Plus I do tend to get a receipt with photographic proof of identity if it is a collection .

Refund it anyway, and tell the seller if she still wants to it you'd like her to pay in cash. It's a win win really, no PayPal fees and there's no come back.

I bought a load of Scalextric track on ebay from someone who was about 3 miles away. I never did get round to collecting it...

It's been what, 1 day? Something possibly came up and just too busy to reply, I'd say poor manners more than anything at the moment.

This is my preferred option. I will give it until or after the weekend then refund the payment.

Don't refund , give her ample opportunity to collect, a friend of mine sold a car to a guy from London and it sat on his street for quite a few months before the buyer came to collect

Probably busy so I'd give her at least until the end of the bank holiday weekend to collect. A week would be a reasonable time.

You have now paid PayPal fees when it would be easy enough for her to pay cash.

Refund and say you want cash. Will avoid and problems down the line (if any)

I tend to print off a copy of the invoice and get them to sign it. Ask to see a copy of her signature and away you go.
