Does this sound like Coil Whine?

If not coil whine then what is it?

I watched it through once without sound just to check it wasn't a jump scare vid, but yeah it sounds like coil whine. What are you doing when it occurs?

It only happens when starting a Steam game, if I alt+tab out of the game it stops, when I go back in it starts again, seems to happen on every game in my library

Yeah, definitely sounds like coil whine. You get it most often when there is an excess of FPS, in game menus its not uncommon to hit 1000+ fps.

So is this a fault, or do I simply put up with it?

You'd have to ask the company you bought it from. It use to be that people could send back cards with coil whine, but it was happening more frequently and it isn't actually a sign of anything wrong with the card, so a lot of places stopped taking it.

Ask them in the customer services forum, they're really good in there. You should get a reply tomorrow, although it might not be 'till Tuesday considering the bank holiday.
