Hi,

Any rumors about the holy grail of monitors:-

34" 21:9 3440x1440 IPS 144Hz (GSYNC/FREESYNC)

Cheers

As far as I am aware, please someone correct me, as I'm not that clued up about it, current Displayport tech won't allow for a large enough bandwidth to support 144Hz at that resolution. I'll try and find the article I skimmed through in the mean time.

Sorry that doesnt answer your question, however I was looking at Acer's new upcoming ultrawide, only to find out it's 75Hz :(

Would be nice to see these soon thats for sure!

Yup, I don't think current display port has enough bandwidth for it :(

So very unlikely to see anything this year, maybe next year.

I really wonder why producers don't invest in the 21:9 market as much as possible. I'm sure the interest these monitors raised didn't go unnoticed. For productivity in general to multimedia (movies are outstanding in 21:9) to gaming (ok no 144hz so far but.....) it is just so much better that this should really become the standard aspect ratio.

no current plans from any panel manufacturer that i've seen in any roadmap or planning pack i'm afraid

Hi Baddass is there any reason why a panel manufacturer wouldn't want to include Adaptive Sync as apart of the displayport 1.2a standard? Also is Adaptive Sync mandatory or is still an option in the 1.3 revision?

Correction...
(>28") 34" 16:9 2560x1440 IPS (>90Hz) 144Hz GSYNC/FREESYNC with minimum DP + 2xHDMI

That's the monitor I'd like to see. And it's more likely to happen. Heck the Acer Predator is almost exactly it. Except it's only got a single displayport and is only 27 inch. If I spent £500+ on a monitor, I want to connect as much as I can to it. And it should hopefully have 1080p up-scaling for non-native resolution and those consoles (which don't even always do 1080p).

So... Acer Predator with more I/O and a bigger screen, I'd pay Titan X money for that. Funny thing is, the current model almost does cost as much as a Titan X.

Acer Predator Z35 in about 4 to 6 months will be 21:9, 3440x1440*, 35", 144Hz, IPS, curved & have G-Sync

*rumoured - the res is not certain yet

afaik, there are 2 upcoming acer models

34" 2560x1080 144hz, gsync, VA or ips
34" 3440x1440, 75HZ, gsync, VA or ips

Can't remember which one is va and ips.

Unless it has DP v1.3?

Or HDMI 2.0? In 6 months both inputs should be mainstream, right?

PS Where did you find this gossip? ;) Worth waiting for, if true!

Edit: Oops should have googled first, quite a bit of info on these, will have a read.
