Are you saying that any reference 290x block will fit even though this card has 8gb ram?
Do they use the same number and placement of ram chips but just double the capacity of each chip then?

The store staff say they don't have any compatible blocks for these cards, yet I think they have the block that's on your card, don't suppose you have the exact model number for your block do you?
 
Did it fit straight on or did you have to mod it at all, one review said a modification was need to the plexiglass despite ekwb saying they would fit.
 
Nothing at all. Just fitted the heat pads into everything and its all fine. Full load iverclocked 60c core temps and 60c vrms max now
