paracetamol challenge - I am completely at a loss

Is this actually a thing and what's the point.
It's not like other challenges that can be videoed and funny.

Googling just brings up a lot of "apparently" a new crazy.
And mum if someone who took an overdose after splitting with partner and died (not part of any challenge).

And all copied and pasted from a single source.

I just tried to look it up and only found the news articles about it, not any challenges themselves. Has the media been duped by a rather clever troll somewhere?

Admittedly I didn't research it I relied on the independant being supposedly respectable to not report bull :D.

I can only hope I've been mislead and it isn't a thing.

There's loads of people reporting it, I imagine it's going to turn out the original source is a made up daily mail article.

This could only have been spawned from the ******* of the internet like their "cut for bieber" thing.

that one was slightly amusing... though I suspect it was over hyped and most of the twitter feed was just members of /b/ out leveling each other by pretending to fall victim to it

ditto to the waterproof iphone thing - as much as it is hilarious to imagine some people actually dunked their iphone in a glass of water the majority of the posts claiming to have done so or expressing annoyance were likely fake

as for this paracetamol challenge, that is scary.... slow painful death from liver disease, really nasty thing for people to spread

IIRC some people overdose on paracetamol & sleeping tablets but then don't die in their sleep as they expect and end up in hospital... they're not necessarily going to get a donor liver in time (no idea how they are prioritised in terms of transplants if it is self inflicted?) and end up having a slow and rather nasty death :(

I preferred the charge your iphone in the microwave one :)

Liver failure, and subsequent death is a bloody awful way to die.
It doesn't take that much paracetamol to be absorbed to make it irreversible, amd it is painful, slow, and unstoppable when absorption has occurred.
Iirc 10g might be enough to kill, if not 20g is, been a while since I looked at those figures.

I doubt its much of a "Craze" .

Its ridiculous though, Paracetamol ODs lead to a pretty painful death from what I have heard.

People must just make some random crap up and see how many gullible morons follow them. Why dont they try it on recreational drugs, at least they get a bit fun out of it lol .
