Hi guys,

Can someone tell me if they remember if their super-wide IPS monitor with model numbers: LG 34UM65-P /67/95 came with a screen film you had to remove?

On mine it looks like it has this coating that should be removed, but it doesn't look like there's anything to peal. I think it's likely to be LG's Anti Glare coating, but imo it looks like it make glare worse!

Thanks

Thanks for replying. So the whole screen had a protector over it which peeled off?

Only the bezel had one which seemed peelable to me.
Yep it was a light easily peeled back surface which was barely attached. If you do not have one it could be an RMAd screen!

Ok thanks. So since you've peeled it off, if you look in the corner does it look like there's like a double coating still on the screen?

Nope its flawless & flat. I'm selling it in the next few days so I will post some pics of it then look at my post history on Friday !

Here are some shots from my monitor. Let me know if it's the same as yours

I've had this from LG:

"...i have had a look into this with my technical team and I can confirm that this protector is part of your screen and should not be peeled off at all."

Yeah it is tempting but no point for me as my 290 would just cry trying to play games at 4k :p And not to mention be far too big for my desk!

290 would run most at about 30FPS but you can always alter it to run lower res in the meantime. From my perspective I upgrade my GPUs far more often than my monitors (about every 8-10 years for a monitor, every 2 for a GPU.)

My next upgrade will be a 4K monitor even though my 980 will probably struggle to run games at that for now.

30 fps isn't smooth for me :( With gsync/freesync maybe...

Don't know about this monitor but I find anything but the native res. to look awful, although the custom res. of a 21.9 38" screen does look pretty damn good!

Personally not too bothered about 4k tbh, the 4000:1 contrast ratio of that philips screen is far more interesting! :D
