Spec me a: Quiet replacement for i5-2500 stock cooler

Don't look at specification especially for Zalman I think their noise level is measured from another room. Check some reviews and compare temps to noise, at this price best option would be Arctic cooler or Coolermaster heatsinks, look for high thermal design power , if your motherboard have fan software then you can control speed of the fan to make it quiet.

Actually CNPSX2 is very quiet but the temps are not good

I'd go with the Raijintek Themis

I don't think either of your recommendations are highly regarded

That does look like a good choice actually.

After reading several reviews/comparisons, I was also looking at:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Cooler Master Hyper 412S CPU Cooler £28.99
1 x Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler £26.99
Total : £65.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Unfortunately out of stock at the moment, similar performance to the Raijintek, but more expensive!

Those two are also a good option I have the 212 Evo myself :) However they are slightly expensive and there would be minimal performance difference

I never actually got round to this, but now when playing the Witcher 3, my PC sounds like it's about to take off, so I will be purchasing a new cooler tomorrow.

The Coolermaster 212 Evo and Raijintek Themis are out of stock, so looks like they are off the table, so it's most likely down to one of these 3 (for some reason my shopping basket script isn't working atm):

BeQuiet! Pure Rock Cpu Cooler - 120mm
Cooler Master Hyper 412S CPU Cooler
Raijintek Aidos Direct Contact CPU Cooler - Black

Recommendations?

Definitely not the aidos it is a smaller cooler

Personally I'd go with the Matterhorn as it'll mince anything for the same price

YOUR BASKET
1 x Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler £29.99
Total : £35.96 (includes shipping : £4.98 Ex.VAT).

I hope you pull the trigger this time :)

Ordered :)

Thanks!!

i would say best is Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler

Shop site is being strange, on the product page it says 6 ready for dispatch, but under the Coolermaster section on the heatsinks list it shows pre-order only...

Regardless, I've ordered the Matterhorn now, as it appears to be both quieter and cooler :)

Thanks for all the help guys! :D

Well I'm glad you ordered before it became out of stock as well :p

i would say best is Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler

I have one and it is decent but has been overtaken nowadays. Closer to £20 it might be a good option but it's more around the £25-£30mark where there are better options.

Looking to replace the stock Intel cooler on my i5-2500 with something a bit quieter. I'm not fussed about looks, and budget is ~£25-30.

It's well out of your budget but I urge you to look at the Nofan CR-95 because it's totally silent; avoid the CR-80, which is cheaper but no good in the longer term because it will come loose.
