****Official Project CARS thread****

Sorry, I've been away this weekend so haven't been able to update any of the TT times. I'll set up a new thread and update it tonight.

Had my first go with traction and stability assists off today. I'm way off being even a decent driver but it had me thinking 'is that it?'. I was expecting to be backwards all the time but it wasn't so bad at all. I'm definitely slower but the speed will build up again as I get into it I'm sure.

I had real trouble with the Mercedes 300SEL in one championship. The tyres just didn't warm up in practice or qualifying no matter what. It meant that just as I got used to the braking points they were useless when the tyres were pre-warmed for the race.

Bit of a odd glitch was racing online when i hit something on the main straight and both my front wheels fell off wasn't until i looked at the game replay it showed there was a car there but on my screen there wasn't

Don't know what class these BMW's are but there fun to drive

Anyone got any tips for a good starting point car set up for the Clio cup series please?

It will depend a lot on how you play, I think. I've tried using others' setups and they've been awful for me because they are either more or less aggressive drivers than me. Just have a play around in a solo race or practice.

Patch 1.3 is out now on XB1, i'll see how much difference it's made to the controller steering tonight.

Project CARS – Xbox One Patch 1.3 - Fixed Issues

Gamepad Controllers:
* Added ABS brake rumble to Xbox One triggers, so that the triggers will rumble on losing traction when braking. The amount of trigger rumble is controlled together with Force Feedback strength via the Force Feedback slider.
* Improved the efficiency of the controller rumble effect, to help make the steering more responsive on the Xbox One.
* Fixed an issue where moving the sticks from one extreme to the other would sometimes result in the steering getting stuck.
* Reworked the Xbox One analogue sticks range and axis dead zones, providing much improved steering control.

Wheel Controllers:
* Fanatec wheels – Fixed the issue with steering jolts that some users experience.

Online:
* Fixed an occasional crash when advancing from Qualifying to Race.
* Fixed an occasional crash when returning from a race to the Race Central.

Time Trial:
* Set Time Trials starting time to 11am to match the PC platform. This ensures consistent track temperatures across all platforms, as track temperatures affect lap times.

Ghosts:
* Enabled saving of community event ghosts. These ghosts are automatically stored online, and you can then download ghosts of other players’ laps for these events.

Tracks:
* Sakitto and Summerton variations - Corrected track info regarding number of turns and track length.
* Sakitto Sprint - Fixed a crash that would at times occur when using time acceleration.
* Cadwell variations - Fixed draw distance issues on various objects.
* Oschersleben variations - Fixed odd lights around track and colour issues with the horizon.
* Zolder - Fixed an issue where the player car would sometimes start in a closed garage.

AI:
* Fixed an issue where AI vehicles were sometimes sent to the pits due to low fuel on races where refueling is not allowed.

Pitstops:
* Pitstop strategy will now use the actual bar value for tyre pressures.
* Fixed an issue where the Pit engineer would repeatedly inform the player that a pit crew member has lost a wheel nut during pit stops.
* Fixed an issue where the Pit Engineer would call the player to stop for fuel when fuel consumption was disabled in options.

Replays:
* Improved the smoothness of the sun, moon, stars, and shadow motion when rewinding replays of a race that had a high time acceleration.

Driver Network Profile:
* Fixed an issue where at times the miles driven on a particular track or with a particular car would be logged under the wrong car or track. This improves the accuracy of the player’s Affinity ratings.

A good starting set up is the default one. It handles entirely different to GT3 cars I am used to but once got dialled in the handling the default set up seems reasonable. If you don't like something of the default set up though, it is likely that it is a personal preference so difficult for me or anyone else to tell you settings to use.

I know the general theory of making set ups but actually making them isn't my strong suit. The guides in the set up menu do a pretty good job of telling you what you should change but any questions I am sure someone can answer.

I shouldn't laugh but that did crack me up! :D

No problem, not sure how many people have been doing it though as haven't seen many times posted :( Are we sticking with Watkins Glen still or changing track? I don't think I can go any faster but might give it another go.

Has the PS4 version had any patches since launch?

Also, Formula C around Donington might be my new favourite thing :o

I don't remember seeing any patches for the PS4 version yet. SMS have probably been concentrating on the XB1 version due to the bugs / problems with the controller.

I keep driving GT3 as I am used to the cars now and quick with them. I should really spend an evening going through the other cars to see if any others I like too.

If I buy this 2nd hand is there any code or anything the previous owner may have used? There's only £3 between used and new.

I've most definitely improved at WG!

Had a crazy race last night. Managed to qualify 2nd. By the first corner I was in first. Around 15 or so laps in I started to lack pace and 2nd place had reduced my 7 second lead to around 2 seconds.... Then I started to rain.

After a shoddy pit stop - which added around 15 seconds. I was back out in 15. after a few more laps I made it into 7th place... Then I slipped up. Spun out, hit a barrier or two.. few mins later the engine blew.

I'm in the middle of the Ginetta G4 Junior championship and got an offer for a Euro track day. The Ginetta feels planted, there's nothing you can do to upset it but the Caterham I'm using for the track day is an absolute hooligan, it's too much fun.
