would this be better than a heatsink thanks in advance.

PSU isn't a great unit and is slightly overpriced

Are you just using the PC for gaming? If so, I'm sure you'd get similar/better FPS with a 4790k + Z97 setup and save a chunkload of money at the same time

yea mostly gaming ! i was looking at x99 because supposed to be a bit more future proof ?

X99 isn't worth it for gaming, even if it's more future proof. Games don't really use more than 4 cores. People are still on the likes of i5 2500k from a few years back and that processor is still performing great. Go with an i7 4790k for now if you don't want to wait for Skylake. That's what I'm going to do aswell, Skylake won't give any significant increase in performance, so it isn't worth the wait IMO.

The only future-proofing you might need are extra PCIe lanes which X99 offers, since PCIe SSDs use up some of those lanes and can reduce lanes on graphics cards or even prevent having enough lanes for SLI with just 16 lanes on Z97. But the price of those SSDs are also not worth the capacity right now.

Best way of future-proofing for gaming... make sure you can upgrade your graphics card in a few years, since that'll be the thing to provide performance boost in games.
