Auris Hybrid battery indicator

I've just got myself a hybrid Auris and I was wondering if the battery level indicator on the dash (it's a 2010 model) is accurate?

Should be reasonably accurate, but the battery is so small on such hybrids that there will be some tolerance on it. does it read out in a percentage or just a number of bars?
 
Are you talking about the battery symbol on the right? Think it's pretty good indication for a ballpark on the battery charge.

Judging by the state of the car in that picture, it seems it's in 'READY' mode, but you've got an engine malfunction light on, so something up with the emissions system somewhere in the car, unless you're already aware of that?
 
Well that's OK then :) , just thought as it was a bit blurred that it was a quick snap of his own.
