Help me identify the artist!

So I've just come across this painting in a grandpas house, he sadly passed away a few weeks ago. I have decided to have this painting as it's something that always sticks in my mind when growing up whenever a saw him.

It was painted in 1902 and 1908. But I just can't seem to workout the signature on it. And the paintings titles aren't bringing up much either.

I've attached a couple of photos to see if anyone has come across it before?

I believe 1908 on the second one may refer to the car (a Lanchester 1908) rather than the year it was painted

Well his name is Peter

and his second name is Mont...something :confused:

I tried 'Montfort' (not sure it is Montfort but seems close)

so there was a Peter Montfort who lived between 1885-1968 and did water colours at least...

no idea if that is related though... might well not be 'Montfort' - could try other names starting 'Mont...' but not sure there are many

Seems most likely to be an unknown artist. No bother to me as its sentimental value but would have been nice to know
