Does anyone know the difference between these two motherboards? I've notice a rather large difference in price, that's all.

Nothing in particular. I just want to be able to overclock the CPU. That being said, I might still wait for Skylake.

At this stage of life for Z97, id also hold out a few months for skylake. New cpu's, with a likely upgrade path, new chipset and new features coupled with the first use of ddr4 on mainstream intel.

Will the price of Z97 boards and 1150 chips go down once Skylake is released?

Usually the price stays the same - sometimes they do have a special offer on motherboards but nothing major.

Aside from special offers, i cant honestly say i can remember seeing any signifigant price drops on Z77 kit when i moved over to Z87.

When is Skylake set to be released? If I were to purchase the board now, would the 1150 i5's still be around in a month or two?

Skylake is is due in the next few months, the 1150 cpu will still be around.
