Are you doing it? Should i?

not really having issues running games at 1440p with Rog swift

Worst Game for performance
W3 Maxed including hairworks im getting 55-60fps < would like to go over 60 tbh.
Hairworks off 70-85fps

I did get 50% off "techincally" for my 980s. as i got refund on a 7990 which paid for 1 980 pretty much outright :D

so Are you moving to 980TI's? from 980s? Would you are you?
i was tempted by Titan X's but for 1440 its big pointless I want 4K but its not their yet.

I am so tempted to buy the evga hybrid 980 ti's. I really like the kaf2 980's I have but they really need some water to do what I want out of them and I just aint goin down the custoom wc system.

I think i will upgrade my 980's in SLI to the Ti's just for the 6GB VRAM and extra performance and because i can afford to, i will sell my 980's help it a little bit.

If you want a little extra horse power i'd keep one of your 980's as a PhysX dedicated card. With my 980's and a 780Ti as a Dedicated PhysX card i get between 75-144fps with Hairworks on.

I know on these forums i got a lot of opinions about using dedicated PhysX card in my system (maybe just because it was my left over 780ti), not sure why as with games that use PhysX it can mean all the difference between <60fps and >60fps but thats just my opinion i wanted to pass on.

Just ran my Titan X at 1380Mhz riding the horse (fastest possible) next to the lake or whatever that is, with dense trees to the right.

1440p Ultra with everything maxed in both graphics menus :

Min 45 , Average 51, Max 59 (1 GPU btw)

With 2 GTX980Ti it should be a dream IMO but if your happy for now you can wait for Pascal as it will be a bigger performance difference.

If I had the spare cash then probably yes but from what I could get for my 980's plus the extra is it worth it. Probably no.

Ideally my next upgrade is a single card that can do 4k.

Whenever you suggest to wait for the next gen, always remember that selling now is also a good strategy, as you would get less selling your 980s for Pascal (coming next winter?).
I'm also thinking about it (2 970s here), what's stopping me is the lack of titles that will push things forward.

Mate if you were on 4k I would say yes 100%, but at 1440p even you admit your 980s are fine. It's a funny game trying to go for ultra settings all the time, especially in a game like Witcher 3.

Plenty of people have moaned about how much more powerful our GPUs compared to the 7870 or whatever in the PS4. But when NVIDIA insist on putting a setting on the PC version that purposefully cripples GPUs as much as they can, surely we can all open our eyes and see they just want to punish our cards so we then throw more money at them. That said I gotta Hybrid on order but don't be fooled by the tricks.

I could be wrong, but I almost certain that having a dedicated PhysX card has absolutely zero effect on the ability to run, or the performance of Hairworks.

using 980 sli on 3440x1440 and no intention of spending any more money when my pc plays everything fine, ive wasted far too much over the last 2 years im giving my wallet a break

Color me dumb:rolleyes: If you cannot see 60fps, why would you upgrade?
Am I missing something? I would just get a 2nd 980 down the line. Apart from the 4GB limit which I have not hit yet. W3. HW on ultra 60+ off 75+
HELP ME UNDERSTAND.
